Grading women

Mohsen Qara'ati on why women should wear hejab

TV preacher says if women do not wear hejab, it will distract men and destabilize society. Men will start grading scantily-clothed women they have seen in public and regret not having a wife as good looking and desirable.

I'm sorry for my comment concerning gol-dust, but you can't read his dispensable comment anymore since it has already been censored. Be sure, he was very nasty, insulting a community member personally, swearing at a whole ethnic group and defending men misusing girls.

I am more spiritual than

by Someone (not verified) on

I am more spiritual than being religious. As a man my reaction to the opposite sex has been different in different ages as I have observed my behavior.
As a teenager I was fascinated by the opposite sex and wanted to know them better. Strong attraction was there.
As a young adult pressured by hormones, the only thing in my mind was to have sex with the opposite sex. A much stronger attraction that forced me to get ready and go out on friday nights to meet the opposite sex.
In later years, in the west at work or public dealing with women the scent of women always distracted me and I found them to have an advantage over me when dealing with them.
Their hair had a magnetism and would make me look at their long or short hair. I was curious to see what they were made up of. Their letafat intrigued me and Living in the west, I enjoyed looking at women's faces, their body admiring and sometimes day dreaming what I would like to do to them.
When dealing with women in Iran who were covered, I found that they did not have the effects they did without cover and therefore I was not distracted as much. Still women with pretty faces intrigued me to use my imagination, but not to the extend as with those in the west.
It seemed to me that my behavior with the women who were covered in head and body properly, who did not act feminine (ghero ghamish) was more proefessional and we could conduct our business affairs better.
Either in the bank or as a young shop clerk, more than anything else I found out the behavior of women it seemed to me was a requiremnet for the head cover to work.
When younger, I used to look at women's body before I would look at anything else and fantesize, but once this young lady caught my eye and her reaction was anger. She looked at me angrily with silence telling why are you looking at me as a sex object.
So I have reached the conlusion, if their curves are covered I dont have nothing to look to fantesize and this makes it a little easier to deal with the opposite sex for me.
But, that is just me as a man with natural desires and controlled by horemons when was younger.
I now believe women in cover lose their advantage of using their body to get what they want unfairly and the business dealing or affair will be more even handed and fair.

by MiNeum71 on

You are a Mr. Nobody. Your comments and the way you treat the community members prove this.

Oghde-ee because the pretty babes don't dance for you? When everything is so bad in the Western countries, then pack your stuff and go back to the devote Moslem scumbags, whose favourite passion is mistreating, beating and raping innocent girls.

Although I believe you are entitled to your opinion but so am I!

I am ashamed of your comment or whatever you have recited
from an islamic preacher!!!

As Sanaz stated
"rape" has nothing to do with women being dressed or not. if that be the case then you "Mineum71" must be caged for not being able to control yourself. As far as I know that is a sickness. Women are beautiful and pretty, what the mollahs are saying is that this is a mistake and that women must not be allowed to show off their beauty!!! what a stupid concept.

The point that this man was

by AnonymousXYZ (not verified) on

The point that this man was making is regarding the distinction between public and private space (in society), and cooperative social mores as the basis of social harmony. This is not too subtle a point and the reaction in this forum is indicative of the (sadly) characteristic fundamentalist approach of the Iranians to issues (regardless of the color of the fundamnetalism; here "modernism").

Regardless of the contemporary views on these matters, biological (timeless) factors do assert themselves. This, along with disease, the aging process, etc. may be an unpalatable fact, but it is a biological fact, and an ever present theme of the record of the human condition. Facts of life (like it or not.)

A society needs to determine the basic values of its existence. Cooperative societies are built on Family; Competitive societies on Individual. It is a choice, and we can argue the merits of each. But that is the core issue that should be considered.

You may now return to your regularly scheduled snickering program.

What a simplistic and dumb way of looking at this subject!

by farrad02 on

The Mullahs and Shiite theology has always had a major concern and complex about matters south of the navel! This all goes back to the fundamental belief that people are not smart and mature enough to manage their own affairs and certainly not their own desires!

This comment is in spite of the fact that I personally like Mohsen Gharaati and think he is one of the brighter Mullahs that have appeared on TV since 1979! He can be quite funny!

MiNeum71

Dear "sanazi",

by MiNeum71 on

The use of Irony introduces an element of humour which may make the criticism seem more polite and less aggressive, but understanding the subtlety of this usage requires second-order interpretation of the speaker's intentions (also called Sarcasm).

And as you can see, there are still many guys who think, that girls who have been raped, have only themselves to blame.

By the way, I simply cited an Islamic preacher.

Forgive him. He is only a mullah

by 11101932 (not verified) on

What do you expect from a low-ranking mullah. Let's see what the imam Khomeini has to say about men dealing with women. After all he is the Shia's imam, nest in rank to the 12-imams.

//www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNwbbnNE7kk

But please check the above on an empty stomach. You definitely run the risk of throwing up by partaking from the ocean of the Hindi's theological utterances.

What do you expect from mullahs?

by 11101932 (not verified) on

Sadly enough, millions of Iranians still listen to mullahs and follow the trash that comes out of their trashy minds. So, az mast ke bar mast. When the day comes that we stop listening to these purveyors of backwardness and women-bashing, then and only then we will be truly free humans and do our own thinking for ourselves rather than letting creeps like him telling us all about it.
One final note, it is wonderful that women are beautiful, men are good-looking, flowers are delightful. We need not hide any of these precious features of our world. What we need to eradicate, once and for all, are all the crook mullahs.

sometimes The simplicity is

by bina (not verified) on

sometimes The simplicity is the enemy, and unfortunately what he says, seems to be logic in a simple mind.

In Akhonds mind, (man's rule), sex is the number one issue, and "Zan" is the object. covers them, otherwise will be war.

To generalize this issue, it is true, that we may compete for what is better. Man, woman, car, house, degree, salary, food,.... and here and there some unfair, unjust action happens, which the people hurts, because of this competetion. But The more premitive, the more physical.

In a civil society we agree to negotiate, in backward mind, hide it, otherwise they still it from you.

Human nature, but different degree.

Rape? the guy was not even talking about rape...

Anyways, what you said in your comment is very "out of date" and narrow-minded. Did you know that women who cover their entire body also get raped? Rape is about power and control not about what an individual wears or looks.

The truth is, whether its bi-hejabi or anything else, men must start taking responsibility for their own actions.

Unbelievable that there is soooo much ignorance in one man. I do not have a number. I also do not dress in scantily clothes and I find men are still staring at me.

I don't believe it is my fault that I am an attractive woman. Who is he going to blame next .....my parents for my looks?

MiNeum71 I certainly hope that you are joking though I must say it is a very sick joke.

It is a fact of life that ALL men look at other women. And all women look at other men too.

It is human nature to constantly compare and contrast that is what makes us analytical.

So in essence, he is true about human nature whether you want to believe him or not.

haghighat talkheh for many.

Life 101: There will always be someone better looking, more successful, richer and happier than you.

Same goes with girlfriends/wives.

Haven't you heard the grass is greener on the other side? That is human nature, analyzing.

Great reasoning and analogy

by Ali P. on

This mullah would slap himself on the head, after looking at an attractive woman, and bitch at himself:"Khaak bar saret baa iin zanee keh gereftee", and this, is the attractive woman's fault????!

And the attractive woman should be charged with 'breach of mental peace and security'???

So all women should do their best to -God forbid- not look better than this Mullah's wife, so he won't get excited and do that??

I am baffled. Do we even have a word describing this character?
