The Independent: Dozens of Iranian students have been detained after a rare protest on Monday at a university in Tehran, human rights groups claimed yesterday. The students had been demonstrating over the reburial of the bodies of soldiers killed during the Iran-Iraq war on the campus of the prestigious Amir Kabir University. Student leaders accused President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's government of transferring war graves to the campus as a ploy to dissuade them from staging or hosting anti-government rallies before the June presidential elections. Bodies of soldiers killed in the long conflict with Iraq, revered as martyrs in Iran, have already been transferred to graves in two other universities in the capital in the past month >>>

by Anonymous Observer on Fri Feb 27, 2009 02:34 PM PSTYou are absolutely right. More than anything else, Islam is a political / military doctrine, and a racist one at that.
unbelievable
by religulous (not verified) on Fri Feb 27, 2009 02:11 PM PSTwow I still see so many blind and stupid comments by the Koran clan ...so blinded and brain washed by this cancer of a religion called Islam that have not figured out what a negative effect it has on Iran and its citizens...
all religions have had their share of brain washing corruption and stupidity but Islam has taken it to another level...I hope some day you supporters of this poison will have the ability to think for yourselves and realize how stupid this supposed faith is.
It Has Everything to Do with Islam!
by LalehGillani on Fri Feb 27, 2009 01:52 PM PSTA Muslim state governed by the Sharia laws has everything to do with Islam. IRI thugs are killing people in the name of Muslim God. They are empowered and encouraged by Muslim religion. They have been promised eternal life in heaven.
Islam has had one and only one goal in Iran: to penetrate and dominate every aspect of our lives. You can’t excuse Islam this time around. We have witnessed its horror in person.
Besides, Islam is synonymous with politics. If not, why would Muslim armies be dispatched to invade and convert other nations? To bring them spiritual comfort at the point of a sword?
It's got nothing to do with Islam or any religion
by Religion (not verified) on Fri Feb 27, 2009 12:57 PM PSTAny religion is for spiritual guidance and a personal private matter but when it is mixed with politics and a whole state is founded upon religion, then the trouble starts and religion loses its credibility and value.

We March to a Different Tune
by LalehGillani on Fri Feb 27, 2009 09:06 AM PSTPolitical activism in Iran has matured in the last thirty years beyond the armed uprisings of Cherikha-ye Fada- yan-e Khalq and Mojahedin-e Khalq.
Since any form of political dissent in Iran is confronted with brutal reaction of IRI thugs, political activists have sought many avenues of dissent. Hidden inside the “reformist” movement is the cry for freedom from tyranny. Similarly, passive resistance to unjust laws and the boom of non governmental organizations in pursuit of social causes and improvements are other examples of political dissent in Iran.
The day will come that we must confront IRI thugs with force. For now, we march to a different tune…

Zionist Fabrication
by Anonymous111 (not verified) on Fri Feb 27, 2009 07:58 AM PSTThere is no dissent in Iran. The IRI is a huge lovefest, and anyone who says otherwise is a an Israeli agent. This footage was shot in Tel Aviv and everyone in it is a an Israeli actor who can speak Farsi!!
Anyone who disagrees with the IRI and the status quo is a Zionist, Israeli agent, neocon lapdog, war monger who wants Iran attacked, blah, blah, blah.....

by ali123 (not verified) on Fri Feb 27, 2009 07:51 AM PSTthe butcher mullahs must be peeing in their abaas right now...! you can't hold down 60 million progressive individuals! all oppressive regimes have fallen, so it's time for the akhoonds to be shipped out on a one way trip on a flimsy boat to makeh!
later days mullahs, your time of rape and pillage is over!
and to mr basiji, saddam could not even look at iran the wrong way when the shah was in power! we had the 5th largest army in the world! it is only when your god mullah khomeini murdered all the brave officers that the french and russians gave the ok to attack iran- because it had been so weakened! you and the rest of your basijis wouldn't exist had we had a true democracy in iran!

Waste of Time
by Hormoz (not verified) on Fri Feb 27, 2009 07:20 AM PSTWith the protests pf this type and the lyrics signing of this kind we are just wasting our time. IRI gets an A+ in Amir Kabir (Poly Tech. Univ.) to change that university from one of the revolution/politics center of 30 years ago to what is shown on the tapes. That is really a shame.
It is time to say good bye to heaven: Bye bye love! ;(
by Anonymous2 (not verified) on Fri Feb 27, 2009 07:05 AM PSTNow that saddam is gone and in less than 2 years us troops heading home then it is time for the militia (basiji) return to civilian life in search of civilian job in these days of highly cometitive job market in the global economy... or send application to the Iranian milltary see if there is an opnening in these days of shrinking job opportunity and diminishing resources--
Now the gate of heaven is closed due to higher and greater demand for enriched uranium and superior technology and more accessible energy...

Shame on you Basiji and your paymasters
by Shameless finder (not verified) on Fri Feb 27, 2009 06:53 AM PSTUniversity is not a graveyard ... marde hesabi
This is downright an insult and a disgrace to the memory of all those brave souls who gave their lives to defend their country. Other countries of the world have heros and martyrs who have given their lives to defend their countries but they do not bury their dead heros on their university campuses.
If you think they gave their lives for your Imam and his ideals, then they should be buried around your Imam inside his shrine.
Shame
