My War with the Americans

My War with the Americans
28-May-2008

This begins with a personal story. For eight years now, I have been at war with a few lunatic Americans currently residing in Colorado, California, New Mexico and Kansas, who have been responsible for several years of harassment, slander, libel, stalking, interference with employment and other felonies. These individuals have all received legal warnings and orders per their ongoing activities but as my lawyers have claimed, when dealing with people who are mentally ill, deluded and incapable of understanding what the law means, you can expect them to continue their illegal activities until they land in jail or have every penny they have taken away from them.

Racism is rampant in the U.S., despite the fact that this country claims vehemently that it’s a melting pot. My above-mentioned enemies are a bunch of white Americans of either Protestant or Catholic backgrounds, and it’s unlikely that they would continue their defamation, harassment, stalking and so on if they were dealing with a born-and-bred American instead of an Iranian Muslim.

After 9/11, there was a tremendous backlash against Arab-Americans and other ethnic minorities of Middle Eastern descent. One could argue that given the tragedy of what happened and the atrocious actions of Al Qaeda, it’s only natural that Americans would feel resentment. The same racism was displayed to average Iranians living or studying in the US during the Hostage Crisis, even though the majority of these individuals were vehemently opposed to the Islamic Republic and its actions toward the US embassy officials in Tehran.

Having worked as a writer, editor, researcher and online producer for a number of news organizations in the US, I have been astonished that I have worked with so few minorities. During 20 years of employment, I have worked with only six African-Americans, two Asians, and three Indians. The significance of this fact is that the majority of top executives and editors who control the news are still white Americans.

As a result of my personal experiences, I have become completely guarded against most Americans. I find a majority of them to be liars, malicious, narrow-minded, disrespectful, rude and unaware of the cultures and traditions of other nations and religions. Although I have some solid and stable American friends who are trustworthy, decent people, most of my social circle consists of foreigners.

Before we jump to conclusions, it’s important to say that I have also worked with some American colleagues and bosses, who are kind, intelligent, worldly people who truly command respect. One can never generalize, but given what the world is today, it’s important to remain cautious and to see the majority of average Americans for what they are.

Many would argue that as Iranians who live in the US, we should be grateful for the generosity America has bestowed upon us. I am not arguing that America—the so-called great melting pot—has also allowed revolution-struck Iranians to find shelter here, but when push comes to shove, are most of us still considered “foreigners” or Iranian-Americans?

I have spoken to several Iranians and other foreigners who reside in the US, and the answer is generally the same: I am considered American as long as I don’t oppose the US government or criticize Americans. Therefore, given this sentiment, we can assume that there are conditions placed on being accepted as an American. As the great Albert Einstein once said: “Should my theory of relativity should prove correct, Germany will claim me a German and France will declare that I am a citizen of the world. Should my theory prove untrue, France will say that I am German and Germany will declare that I am a Jew.”

The older I get, the more “Iranian” I become, interestingly enough. I have an affinity for my culture, language and traditions and also those of Europe, where I was raised as a child. I date Iranian or other Middle Eastern or European men; most of my trusted friends are foreign; and I have lately become more involved with Iranian cultural organizations.

Perhaps another study twenty years from now of Iranian children born and bred in the US will provide a different result. But for now, most of us who weren’t born here, still consider ourselves Iranians and have on occasion battled racism to some degree or another, as have other ethnic minorities in the US.

As for my own personal war with these Americans in Colorado, California, New Mexico and Kansas, if the law doesn’t destroy them, then vengeance will. We are, after all, the people who have always believed “an eye for an eye….”

Misters’ American attorney and English professor…

I resent the insulting and intimidating tone of your comments regarding my civilized response to an offensive article by your client. You don’t need a PhD in English language to decipher these comments:

“As a result of my personal experiences, I have become completely guarded against most Americans. I find a majority of them to be liars, malicious, narrow-minded, disrespectful, rude and unaware of the cultures and traditions of other nations and religions.regardless of the context in which it has been stated. I suppose you don’t find yourself amongst that majority, but, I do. Gentlemen, I sold my beloved homeland to some extremists when I was younger and didn’t know better. Now that I am close to 60, I will not make the same mistake again. You ought to be as grateful as I am to live in the land of free. The land of law, order and democracy, in spite of all its imperfections and injustices. As an American who worships his Iranian traditions ,heritage and cultures I am true to my allegiance to the flag of the United States and am willing to bear arms in her defense and the democracy she stands for. I very well recognize the flaws of many administrations in their adherence to the true meaning and spirit of the constitution, but, the fact that I have the freedom to criticize and debate those flaws is well worth the price. The rational voice of majority will prevail in the end.

Let me also assure you that I am not a struggling immigrant who counts on government handouts. I am a well educated professional who can differentiate between rational criticism and the irrational voice of anger, hate and violence as uttered by your client. I am also fortunate enough to have the support of many patriot attorneys to protect my rights as a defender of democracy.

A law abiding citizen will never say (no matter how angry or hurt):

if the law doesn’t destroy them, then vengeance will. We are, after all, the people who have always believed “an eye for an eye….””

And for the benefit of Mr. Anderson, the emphasis is on “destroy”, “vengeance” and of course “an eye for an eye”

Again,

With all due respects,

Bijan: You are wrong!

by Daniel S. (not verified) on

Bijan--

I am an American attorney with a number of Iranian friends and interests in the culture and history of Iran and the entire Middle East.

I have been reading the messages on this forum for a number of days, and feel that I need to contribute.

You are completely wrong in your ridiculous assumptions.

As John Anderson mentioned in his post, you can't even comprehend the proper meaning of "an eye for an eye."

Ms. ******* has written a touching, insightful essay which clearly explains the dealings she has had with these people. She also makes it clear to readers that she has American friends and collegues, bosses, etc. whom she respects. You fail to realize this.

As an American who practices the law and is fully aware of the great legal violations that take place in this country every day, I applaud Ms. ******* for having the guts to write about an significant issue which needs to be addressed.

Also, I would be more than happy to represent Ms. ******* in her legal battle with these people in Colorado, New Mexico, California, Kansas, etc. because they have clearly violated the law and should suffer the consequences as a result.

To Bijan: Learn proper English

by John Anderson (not verified) on

Bijan:

You are completely misinterpreting the definition of "an eye for an eye." In the Oxford dictionary, the definition means "punishment similiar or parallel to what someone has suffered."

Ms. ******* therefore is saying that if these American charlatans (and I am American and have met plenty of American lunatics) are ignoring the law with their consistent harassment, stalking, defamation, interferfence with employment, racism, etc. then they should suffer the exact same way. This is what she means.

You are completely mistaken in your interpretation.

Nameless, do you feel any better?

by Bijan A M on

Now that you made your ultra-left (communist-like) speech (or better yet, lecture) you can hopefully calm down, open your eyes and mind to see things more objectively.

I was right, you are an educated individual, but please (at least for a short while) come out of your idealistic hallucinations. I have never suggested that this society is perfect, as there is no such a thing as “perfect society”. But, the system in-place (i.e. democracy) is the only system that will give you a real chance to get it as close to perfect as you want. For democracy to exist you need the rule of law. Yes, the same law that let OJ free, the same law that removed Nixon from the office, and the same law that gives you and me the same right as citizens of this land as it gives to the president. Yes, you will find imperfections in execution of the law, but that doesn’t mean we throw out the baby with the bath water. This same law has given you and me the protection and freedom to criticize and do whatever you wish (within the rule of law) to improve the system and/or protect your rights.

You and I both get frustrated with system’s imperfection. However, we will react differently to the same social injustice or issue. From the tone of your comments, it appears that you advocate “Black Panthers” approach to confront racism while I follow MLK’s approach as my model. I don’t believe you can solve racism with racism and hate with more hate.

I found Ms *******’s article extremely offensive because of her approach in addressing the issue. Whether she is a true victim of discrimination, is irrelevant, it is her reaction to the situation that is offensive. To directly or indirectly opine that majority of a nation is racist (just based on her limited experience) is offensive. The same racist nation (according to Ms *******) is about to elect a black president.

I do admire your desire to elevate the moral standard of this nation that you and I both care for so much, but, pure criticism and irrational reaction will not accomplish what we are looking for (IMHO). We both may have the same political agenda but different approach to achieve it.

Now that you are not fuming (at least I hope you are not), my basis for assertion that the author is advocating violence is this quote out of her piece ”if the law doesn’t destroy them, then vengeance will. We are, after all, the people who have always believed “an eye for an eye….” “ I let you be the judge.

I truly respect your desire for betterment of social order and justice in this nation and elevation of her stature around the globe, but respectfully disagree with your implied violent approach to get there.

Bijan's Darwin Theory

by Nameless (not verified) on

Are you referring to the same laws that locked up Fastaw, Ebbers, OJ, Stewart and the list"s" of their compadre’s? Or are you talking about what dictates the price at the pump, which is quietly over taxed by your political stars under the BS excuse of “cracking down on refineries”? Are you in favor of the rate payers wages to funnel over to the selected few that are holding military contracts while your middle class is being slammed into the ground and innocent people get killed abroad?

This list can go on for miles but at some point we as citizens of this United States must beat the drums of our communities to address and exterminate moral bankruptcy as a matter of advancing our American civilization, if for nothing else. On what basis can you conclude that the author or Daruish are promoting violence? If you don’t have a political motive for such assertion, then do your part to objectively analyze other views as a way to inform the masses of the "real" picture drawn.

Some of us lived here during the hostage crisis, and it was the substance of people like retired Dave that gave us the courage and tenacity to swim through the uninformed suburban, and eventually take the oath to protect our nation in times of need. The need is not to kill a bunch of people with no real voice in the world, but to protect the reputation of a nation full of retired Dave’s who deserve to enjoy the great American stature they so deligently worked hard to build around the globe. A few people’s business motivations are taking that away from millions of deserving Americans. When is enough, enough to get you guys to see the light?

And SadChicagoDad, after 30 years our government and media continue to unjustly insult Iran starting from their eyeranian twangs to their fabricated list of terrorists group and alerts all over prime time media! What do you expect a good citizen should do when he sees his fellow country men brainwashed and his roots humiliated? Anything less than slapping these cows with Rumi and Hafez to enlighten their Mark Twain mentality is un-American if you ask me. That’s of course only for thoese who sincerely care about advancing America. Your sacrafice is to see it as it really is and make your own ajustment.

We don’t need anyone from this community to become the next Dan Quayle of our system, so please assert your better discretion and see where the hurds roam.

I am extremely disappointed to read your post for it makes baseless assumptions and jumps to baseless conclusions. I know my comments maybe viewed as my insensitivity to Ms. *******’s real experience with discrimination. But, that is not the case. My outrage stems from the tone of an article by a seasoned journalist to generalize and make racist remarks (even if it is just an opinion) about majority of the population based on her bad experiences.

Sir, in the eyes of United States laws (at least currently) there is no tolerance for racism and discrimination. I have never denied that there are racist people in our society and it should ideally be our ultimate goal to eradicate racism. This is not an American disease, it is a human disease. As I stated in my previous post I have experienced discrimination in Iran (my home land) 10 times more than here in the US.

We all have had experiences that we have attributed to discrimination or racism, and some may really have been that. But, some could be our mis-interpretation of that experience. If you repeatedly feel to be victim of racism and your twin brother never has had that experience, then you should re-think your interpretation of those experiences.

The tone of your note suggests that you support taking advantage of the law and file a lawsuit every time you feel that you have been discriminated against. More power to you. This country has given you that right and the freedom to protect yourself. But you will be abusing your right to free speech to slander majority of a nation’s population because of the color of their skin or their country of origin. That is racism. And, it is against the law.

I can sympathize with your situation and support you with everything in my power within the framework of the law. But, as soon as you start screaming “an-eye-for-an-eye” I’ll turn you to the authorities for promoting violence. You lose my sympathy right there and then.

Mr. nameless, you sound like an educated individual, but you disappointed me with supporting Dariush’s view. I hope you are not as troubled as him. If you are fooled by a few of his posts on this thread, I can understand a disgruntled person like yourself to support him. But, if you get to know him better, he is anti-american with all his heart. I am surprised that he is not in prison. I hope that you, as worthy as you are, do not blindly carry Dariush’s “Marg-bar-amrika” banner….

Charles Darwin

A Slight Correction...

by Dave on

This is the Navajo Timeline Website. Please spend a little time reading here before you "spout" the Racist stuff that is taught in some of our schools. Unfortunately for our children people with strong political ideologies have been in charge of our schools for too long. History has been rewritten to match their ideologies. Whites did terrible things, but they did not do the things we all were taught in schools. (and I am 64 years old, and until I read this Navajo website, I didn't know this stuff.)

//www.lapahie.com/Timeline.cfm

The Home page is, of course, //www.lapahie.com/index.cfm

It's my understanding that this is their (i.e. Dine) Webpage. The timeline starts with the Indians crossing the Bering Straits.

In other words, don't use the Indians to prove anything you were taught in school about racism before you've read their side of the story.

Tara's Feelings

Americans would be if these lunatics in Colorado, California, New
Mexico and Kansas had gone around for eight years concocting lies about
you, slandering and libeling you, contacting your colleagues,
employers, friends, neighbours and so on.

I've had all of that, except for the racism, at one of my jobs. (racism, that would be a stretch since my father's parents came from the Isle of Mann and my mother's forefathers came over on the Mayflower.) I can tell you what I did. I retired. I got so sick from it that I couldn't enjoy my work. So I left. They replaced me with five people. I loved hearing that.

Hopefully you can find friends to support you as you discover that not every American is like that. Do continue your fights, as the Americans who are disfunctional need to be reminded that this country requires its citizens to be tolerant. I believe that we all need each other. I believe that strongly, and I live in New Mexico.

Dariush, just when I was

by Farhad Kashani (not verified) on

Dariush, just when I was about to say that you believe everything you listen in hip hop music, you came out and say you listen to it and you want us to listen to it !! First of all, hip hop is one of favorite types of music, second of all, like I’ve been saying to you before, you and people like you always love clichés and take things a face value. I absolutely understand that hip hop was invented by folks who subscribe to black racist circles (such as black panther) as part of an industry to fuel some old anti white feelings primarily to fool some young black kids to listen to it, in order to make money. You think Russell Simmons or P Diddy or Wu Tang or Tupac really have civil rights in mind? If you think so, then you’re way off base. The immediate black generation post civil rights era were not at all thugs, racists, bums like we see some new “hip hop” generations are. That generation produced what we see right now mayors, lawyers, governors, doctors,,and more. So don’t confuse the two. I only value Hip Hop entertainment value, I do not believe for a second in most of its lyrics, especially southern rap. So for the love of whatever you believe in, open your mind and broaden your horizon. Furthermore, two wrongs do not make it right. You can not substitute “white racism” with “non white racism”. For your information, MLK was not a racist, nor anti white, and whoever truly believes in his legacy, follows his path. And as far as the “white racism” goes when you blame all racism in history on whites, I don’t even know where to start! All races around the world had and have the problem of racism. You think Iranians weren’t and aren’t racist? For example, you are clearly anti white! And please don’t try to deny it. And it’s cool if you are. Don’t worry, this great country guarantees even “non white” and “anti white” people like you to clearly and without harassment, express their most radical beliefs. Don’t worry; they won’t be any Basijis knocking on your door! Like I told you before Dariush, just by you and Tara and others writing articles like this in clear hatred towards U.S expressing your outmost blind hatred for it, in total freedom, absolutely and totally discredits the actual argument you made in the article saying that “non white” people don’t have rights in this country! How hard is that for you to understand? I mean the more you guys write these articles, only two things become more obvious :1- How unfair and misguided you are and how much blind hatred you have towards the U.S. 2- How much freedom is there in the U.S that allows everyone, and I mean everyone, to express whatever they feel like. Freedom rarely seen or heard of elsewhere.

Your direct and indirect belligerence makes it difficult for an objective audience to render credibility to your argument.

Is it too much for you and your politically correct aficionados to add real life example in your vocabulary and your reverse psychology tactic, if for no reason other than easing the pain of a minority that has experienced racism?

Why not focus on the issue and make a contribution to extinguish it out of our society, instead of turning the other cheek and behave as if everything is peachee? In reality you are in denial and the trick with ignorance is you don't know when you've got any.

This post included someone's experience with a selected few in our society. She clearly stated that in her essay. Then commentary is followed by clear examples from mainly one person, both of whom have been countered by illiterate implications like “go home”.

If this is your approach to elevating your communities and removing ignorance or racism, then you people have become the negative component of your environment.

It's easy to sit back and float with the wind, and some of you talk a good game, but you can't fool the worthy. If it wasn't for Tara and Dariush I wouldn't even be waisting my time on you Darwins.

A lot of these people think because they are sitting happy and content in their corner of the world, then everybody should keep their mouth shut and pretend they are happy too, which is ridiculous.

I know you are all waiting for another song.

First of all, I owe an apology to Tara for causing the heat to be turned on her while all she did, discussed an issue with other Iranians hopping for understanding something she didn't get much of. Why? Because the violators are white Americans, if they were black or Hispanic these Iranians would be all over this page pretending to be with her, plus thousands of Whites, making you wonder how in the hell they found out.

Second, Do not blame what I send, on her! She and I very well may have very different beliefs. and "Don't waste time replying to confirm this." I know!

Third, I understand your fears and interests and I don't think that you should be blamed for it either, after all it is a short life and is better to live it under threats, Yes Sir, No Sir with a little peace than a short life with dignity.
But don't try to push me around, it doesn't work no matter how white you are!

I have always admired those who stood for justice whether is Moses, Jesus, Koorosh, Mohammad, or Abraham Lincoln, Mosaddegh, Martin Luther king or anyone else no matter where they where from and what color they were.

Extreme Racism has always been a problem caused by some whites! Hell, Obama was just talking about it a few days ago and he was criticize for it.
The truth is the truth and if it is offending you, then you must ask why is it? If you are not a racist!

To be honest I am not a fan of Hip hop music. I was listening to music and run in to a few and understood how strong and important some of these lyrics are and I thought you should hear it too and understand outside your circle and the fantasy world we have created for ourselves.

If you think those who have different opinions than you, are a threat to freedom and security and must be silenced, then You must know that they are listening to your opinions and not wanting to silence you. This make you a threat to freedom an security!!!

I am not against capitalism, but what is being done by some under it to become Imperialism.
I am not against equal rights, but what is being done by some under it to become communist.
I am not against Islam, Christianity, Judaism, or any other faith, but what some have done under it to become Zionism, Noe-con and extremism.
If you claim to be the beacon of the world, you should live up to it, not the other way around!!!

Varjavand, I can not stop laughing from your lion story since yesterday. Thanks Again

Both of you please read this:

Varjavand: First off, I chose to send this to the editor of Iranian.com, a fantastic publication which publishes ALL points of view, because I felt this is a piece which should be read by Iranians specifically. I have written for the American media, and felt this article should be read by Iranians.

Bijan: You sound like a complete broken record, going around in circles. Start studing all the published reports about the rise of hate crimes and violence against Arab-Americans and other Middle Easterners after 9/11, and you'll start dealing with reality. YOu seem completely clueless. One quick call to the Arab Anti-Defamation Leagule will explain how much violence and hate crimes have occurred towards Middle Easterners since 9/11.

Another note: If you actually read newspapers or magazines, then you know what an opinion piece is. Instead of whining on and on about how you disagree with said statements, why don't you put pen to paper and write your own?

Ms *******, if I had my ways, you will be suing me along with all those in other states… You are so off base in your piece (granted it is an opinion) that it verges on defaming majority of white Americans and promoting violence. I am sure there are many Americans in your circle (even in the media) that share your racist sentiments but that does not validate your views. You have titled your piece: “My War with the Americans” and have the audacity to spew: ” I find a majority of them to be liars, malicious, narrow-minded, disrespectful, rude and unaware of the cultures and traditions of other nations and religions.” .

You are so irresponsible to declare that you find majority of them (i.e. Americans) to be all those adjectives, and not “some Americans” based on your limited experience. I don’t have blond hair or blue eyes but as a member the white majority of the Americans you have defamed and slandered me with your generalization.

I can clearly see why you feel so unhappy and resentful about your life in here. It is not your war with Americans, it is your war with the world. With your outlook and attitude you will never feel welcomed anywhere in the world, even in your homeland….

The degree of courtesy, understanding, and politeness that Chicagodad has demonstrated is way above the norm. You can’t expect that (even if you deserved it, which you don’t) from majority.

by varjavand on

To Dariush:

I think you are confusing the issue. You keep referring us to the video clips of the comments or songs by some extremists about the Bush’s administration atrocities committed against innocent people under the name of war on terrorism or democracy. I don’t think anyone in this forum supports the war and in fact the great majority of Americans, whom you call racist, vehemently oppose this war and disapprove what is being done by the Bush’s administration.

The issue here is whether one can blame an entire nation based on his/her personal experience? Whether at this critical juncture, one should WAGE WAR ON AMERICANS or prescribe VENGENCE and EYE FOR AN EYE as solutions to discrimination? People like you, can hide behind the shield of anonymity provided by the internet and spread their agenda of hate and bigotry with immunity. And remember my friend; the remarkable communication infrastructures that enable you to do this are provided by the same companies you believe should be destroyed. The companies that supply 89% of what you and me buy in this country and create more than 60% of incomes earned by you and me. And, because your name is not clickable! no one knows who you are and what is your motive. I am, in fact, beginning to doubt that you are even Iranian

To Tara: I still don’t understand why a seasoned writer like you has made such a unwise decision to post something like your article on the internet, especially on this forum? Blanket condemnation of a great nation who have accepted us with open arms and calling for retribution against Americans simply because a bunch of lunatics in Colorado, California, new Mexico, and Kansas have tried to destroy your professional career.

You have expressed in your latest comment that you have consulted some of your American colleagues by forwarding a copy of your article to them and the majority of them told you “it is about time that ethnic groups in this country vocalize the bad treatments and discriminations …….” You call this “the American consensus” come on whom are you kidding? Did you send them your article before or after it was posted here? If you sent it after, it was redundant and doesn’t reverse any damages already done. The gene is already out of the bottle. If you sent it before, why didn’t you send it to some of your Iranian friends and ask them what do they think? What do a bunch of American writers, of the type you have described in your article, know about Iranians and the issues confronted them? Aren’t these people the same who reside in Colorado, California, New Mexico, and Kansas and wish to ruin your life? And if they thought that your article was so fantastic, why didn’t they advise you published in a reputable American journal? Perhaps the one they work for?

To Chicago Dad: You have expressed your opinion so eloquently, exhibited a great deal of patience, integrity, and professionalism and kept talking about your Iranian wife so highly. I believe your Iranian wife must be the luckiest women alive for having such a caring husband. An Iranian husband like you is indeed ad very rear commodity, believe me I know that because I have been one for nearly 30 years myself. I salute you.

Dariush, I guess you saying

by Farhad Kashani (not verified) on

Dariush, I guess you saying that "you don't care about my opinion" is an understandable answer. But, all I'm gonna say is you have no idea about the struggles that other people had in their lifes. You don't know me, thus, you don't know how "light" my skin is, or how much money I have in the bank. Finally, I urge also you to look around you and see the tens of millions of "dark skinned" people from all races around the world who in this country have become business owners, law enforcement officers, judges, professors, doctors, lawyers, mayors, governors, presidential nominees.....and others. Then, if you're really are fair and open minded, I think it wouldn't be hard at all to figure out how wrong you and Tara and others are. Just look and observe and explain how is it possible that in what you claim to be a "racist" country, all this happens. The thing is you guys are masters in changing definitions. Your definitions are totally different than what is accepted by the vast majority. You have twisted the definitions of "racism" to serve your own interests. You change the definition and start attacking others using that twisted definition. You know well more than I do what I'm talking about.

Tara

First, allow me to thank you for the degree of civility in your note to me. Notwithstanding your generous tone, I must confess that I neither accept your generalizations about Americans or your rationalization of why you feel justified. Because you've evidently had some run in with a few people, you think its your right to spew really hateful thoughts at the rest of us. What may I ask is the difference in what you have done and all those Americans that were unfair to Iranians during the Hostage Crisis that you complain about? No difference at all, as far as I can see, except for the fact that you think you are justified while you think they weren't. Bigots my dear, come in all shapes, sizes, colors, nationalites and ethnicities. If you were laboring under the idea that only us blue-eyed devil-white guys know how to hate, please let me assure you that we do not have a corner on that market as evidenced by the sentiments expressed in your article.

On a personal note you don't need to tell me how much Iranians have suffered in this country. A wonderful Iranians woman has shared her life with me for thirty years as my wife. I know that there have been times that she's had to face adversity in life, but there are plenty of times that I've had to face adversity, too. The last time I was in LA and Washington, D.C., I can tell you that I didn't see many Iranians holding up, "Will work for food" signs. I did see many Americans though. I'd say that although imperfect as it may be, Iranians by-and-large have been able to enjoy the American Dream while many Americans have not. Your life may not be perfect here, but neither is mine, nor anyone else's for that matter. Maybe if you began to be grateful for what this country has given you or allowed you to get for yourself instead of fixating on what this country has denied you, I'm sure that you'd be happier.

I still believe that your basic belief is that the only problem with America is that it is so damn full of Americans, but we aren't going anywhere, so I guess we'll just have to learn to get along with one another. While we are an imperfect people, we have shared our country with millions of Iranians. Those who came did not squander their opportunity. That is why Iranians are so successful today. Sure we have our fair share of bigots, but can't the same be said for the people of your homeland? How many Americans have been offered the chance to go Iran to live the Iranian Dream by the government and people of Iran? I don't think many, but I could be mistaken. I've been mistaken about many things in life, but fortunately my better-half usually straightens me out!

I hope you get over your hate, for life is just too short to be consumed by hate and to cast oneself as a perpetual victim in life.

Live long and prosper!

You wear your name well.

by George Washington (not verified) on

The words of your "civil" adversary discredit the most important historical event of our nation; the civil war and the reasons behind that blood bath.

La la lands' blind optimists aside, it is profund that some would call your candor against criminality offensive. While some of your oppsitions political motive may be for this nations political parties to remain hijacked, your initiative to demonstrate facts, flush out intellectual inferiority, equality and or racism is what being a good American is all about, be it naturalized or otherwise. Hipocracy, racism and other flaws alike is not what made this nation, and its within your right to polarize them for the blind patriots.

You are a man of wisdom and heart.

Insane!!!!

by Anonymous Observer (not verified) on

This posting is just insane. Did everyone notice that she said that "[t]hese individuals have all received legal warnings and orders per their ongoing activities"!! She's talking plural!!! How mant people does she have "legal warnings" against?!!! I don't think that even Salman Rushdie had so many "legal warnings" against so many people in so many States. Obviously, there is something else going on here...

I can tell everyone that I have lived in various parts of the United States most of my teenage and adult life. I am a naturalized U.S. citizen and consider myself an Iranian American. I have never been harassed by anyone for being Iranian. Much to the contrary, I have always been impressed with the objectivity in which most of my U.S. born American friends (those of non-Iranian descent) discuss subjects related to Iran, and the interest they show in Iran's history. In fact, for the past few weeks, an American friend of mine and I have been involved in deep discussion and research about the Sassanid Empire and its military structure.

So, please everyone, this is not representative of all Iranian Americans. This person obviously has other issues.
