The Shivering, The Torment, The Darkness ..
The Hopelessness, The Bleakness, The Melancholy ..

All Negative Thoughts, Unseemly Influences ..
The Devil himself, Kept At Bay ..

All Joy was Gone, But Has Returned ..
The Dark cloud ever Present, Now Removed ..

Beauty Had Vanished, Sense Of Smell All But Disappeared ..
The sense Of Taste Paralyzed, The Touch Of Love All absent ..

Humanity was Kept A Distance, Torture Ever Present ..
All anguish Remarkable, No Sympathy Being Given ..

By The Grace Of God, All Gone ..
All have Disappeared, All Gone ..

My Brother, God allows Us To Go Through Hell ..
To Make Us More Human, Have empathy ..

To Go Through Hell, Not For Our deeds ..
But, To Make Us More Like Him ..

Ever Lasting, And Ever suffering ..
The Spirit within Us, Glory Abound ..

My Brother, The Joy Of Living ..
Is Paramount To All, Nothing Compares ..

The smell Of A Beautiful flower, The taste Of A Wonderful Fruit ..
The Sight Of A Beautiful Bird, All Passions Arising ..

The Treasure Of Every Moment, Breathing Air ..
The Glory Of Awareness, Being Alive ..

Things That Were Trivial Before, Important Now ..
Knowing The Value Of Every Moment, treasuring It All ..

My Brother ..
Put "humanity" Above All ..

Let Your "Kindness" ..
"Manifest" ..

Do Not Follow Any "Religion" ..
That "Encourages" ..

"Cruelty" ..

And, finally ..
"Embrace" ..

Every Brother And Sister ..
In ..

"Need" ..

Walk with Me, My "Brother" ..
Walk With Me ..

I think it was a good idea that you compiled your poems into one place. I'll visit the site you mentioned and get the pdf file from you. I will then pass it on to my English speaking friends. Maybe it'll help them and inspire them today or sometimes in the future.

Although I disagree with some of the conceptual things you mention in your poems, but the bottom line is that those differences are on the "surface", and that we are in agreements with the bottom line points in your poems.

Also, I would like to remind you that perhaps you should consider writing these poems in Farsi as well maybe using a similar style. I think that would be interesting.

Re: Mona

Yes, one can learn a lot by listening to those who have a different view than him/herself. You talk about love and harmony a lot, two things that could never be spread worldwide because of the very nature of human beings. It will always be a struggle in our world.

And that in turn set the stage for an environment to which Shaer has made many references in his poems. In that enviroment of stuggles, people are allowed to make choices. The choices we make shapes our soul. The rewards for choosing to do good deeds is nothing but "the very action of doing the good deed" and therefore having a more "aaraasteh" soul, that is and should be the only reward! Not some obscure heaven, or appeasement of a god, or other similar things. I wish more people would think about this.

That's why I don't need any god for being or choosing good as opposed to evil. This way, it is even more pure, don't you think?

We do have a difference of opinion in certain areas, but I think it is minuscule compared to our similarities. This goes to you Mona, and to you too Shaer.

P.S. Mona: I have to go now, but later I'd like to ask you a few questions about Monasdream.

RE: Jamshid :)

by Mona 19 on

Dear Jamshid

That's ok if you're not agree with me, because I do believe
in unity in diversity (Unity without Uniformity)

We live in a
world filled with a wondrous diversity of experiences, opinions, physical
appearance, cultures, religion, etc.

Unfortunately people haven’t found a way to live in
harmony with other people, and to celebrate the diversity and learn from it.

The truth is we can only learn a limited amount from those who are like us but
there is a fortune of new knowledge to be gained from those who have a
different perspective to our own.

The diversity in the human family should be the cause of love and harmony, as
it is in music where many different notes blend together in the making of a
perfect chord.

As I said before we
shouldn’t allow difference of opinion, or diversity
of thought to separate us from our fellow- men, or to be the cause of dispute,
hatred and strife in our hearts.

Have a "SUNNY" day

Mona :)

Re: Joubin

Here we have a "know-all" idiot who not only boasts about knowing the mysteries of life, but also by reading a few lines of my comments, he now boasts about knowing my inner thoughts as well.

What more he preaches about "false sense of moral ambiguity", while his own pervert dirty mind is filled with sexual fantasies. Just read his comments: "likes to rape his inner girl...", "lusts after pleasure...", "reading about these practices is like reading about sex...", "Marriage and then, YES, honeymoon..."!

Makes me wonder in what "tavileh" was he raised.

Wrong book

by Joubin Houshyar (not verified) on

Salaam Shaer,
.
With due respect, Jamshid is looking for the path of Action but is bewildered by a false sense of moral ambiguity. His path is blocked by his inner monster (who apparently likes to rape his inner girl).
.
Jamshid jaan: The Rapist is with you. The girl is with you. The rapist 'lusts' after 'pleasure' at all cost. It is 'worldly'. He causes serious damage and harm to the little girl who is innocent and *not* worldly. (Look inside.) Know it as Nafs. (And don't blame GOD for nafs' mischief.)
.
The book recommended for you is the Bhaghavad Gita. (A favorite translation of mine is by Barbara Stoler Miller and good one to start with.)
.
Tao Te Ching is a manual for the Arrived. You need to start moving first, Mardeh Javaan. (Certainly do read it. But it will do you no good as of now. A nice fragrance may be obtained. It will pass.)
.
Read the Gita and listen most carefully to Krishna. The 'instruction' Given is Rigorous and Illuminating. Let Him dispel your doubts.
.
(Tao Te Ching is simply stating the 'View' according to the "best path" as indicated by Krishna. It is 'instruction' only for the initiated; the rest are merely bewildered and mistake the ensuing headache for enlightenment.)
.
Kundalini Yoga, as with Taoist Practices, and Sema of the Sufi (and all related disciplines) are absolutely not to be attempted without proper guidance and guardianship. Reading about these practices is like reading about sex. You really need to do it to get the effect and understand what the fuss is all about.
.
These disciplines are *merely* 'lenses' to focus your (preexisting) inner Power. If you are not yet 'cooked', it will amplify the inner distortions.
.
Remember: Serious Intent before Courtship before Marriage. (And then, yes, Honeymoon!)
.
/& Salaam!

Re: Mona

Dear Mona, thank you for your kind words.

On the last paragraph, you should exclude the likes of me!  Since we don't derive our inspirations from god. We derive it from the will and desire to be be engaged in good deeds not for god, but for ourselves and for others.

As much as I love your kind heart, I must disagree with your god view...

jamshid

Joubin one more note...

by jamshid on

"21.69":    We said: O fire! be a comfort and peace to Ibrahim...

What does that suppose to mean? How does it relate to this discussion? And why do you provide it in Arabid instead of Farsi or English?

jamshid

Re: Joubin

by jamshid on

Living with a comfortable life and ...  What does that suppose to mean?

Who are us? What the heck do you mean with that? What "us"? I am not a mind reader you know! You need to be more specific!

Who is going through hell? the girl is, perhaps for the rest of her life. And no the probability of after life where the rapist will be punished is very small. When both the girl and the rapist die, they simply cease to exist. It will be just as it was for them 1000 years before they were born. They simply didn't exist 1000 years before their brith, they won't exist 1000 years into the future either.

Note that there is one difference between me and theists and atheists. I openly admit that "I may be wrong", to me these issues are just a matter of probabilities, while religious people and anti-religious people alike, they think they got it all, they discovered it all, they know the "sercrets", etc... To them it's a matter of "absolute certainty".

And lastly, no we are not a fiction. It is more likely that God is a fiction, a figment of human imagination.

Here is a test for you:

1. Pick an object in your room, let's say your lamp. Pray 10 times to the lamp for a favor. Pray with all your heart! The lamp will help you.

2. Next, pray 10 times to God, the all mighty, again for similar favors. Pray with all your heart, God will help you.

3. Write down the results and the number of prayers that were answered. How many did the lamp answer for you, and how many did God? You'll be surprised how close the number of prayers answered by the lamp will be to that answered by god.

Praise the lamp, the all mighty.

Salaam Jamshid,
.
Living with a comfortable error and avoiding a difficult Truth.
.
Is that a Way?
.
The questions you need to consider are the following:
.
1 - Who are "Us". Could that possibly a selective group, by any remote chance, Jamshid Jaan?
.
2 - Who is going through hell: the girl or the rapist?
.

You’re a thinker and open-minded person, and I appreciate that, and I also
read your comments before

always like to agree if it’s logical and reasonable

You're absolutly
right "It is up to us to choose between these opposites. We have a
choice."
and how we can do to
bring out the best in our Children and ourselves that 's another topic
.

You mention this

if there is a god, it must certainly be very different than the god of
Islam/christianity/judism/zoroastrims/bahaism..

let's look at it this way

the peoples of the world, of whatever race or religion, derive their inspiration from one heavenly source.Although people have different concepts of God and God's nature, and call God by
different names, everyone is speaking of the same one Being

In the "Eastern" Tradition, and By That I Mean The Oriental System of Belief, God is Very Much an "Impersonal" God. You Can find That In Religions such as Buddhism and Others in the Far East.

In the "Western" Tradition, or Occidental System of of Belief, Religions such As Christianity, Islam and Judaism, God is a "Personal" God.

Let me Encourage to study two (2) Things:

First, the Book Tao Te Ching, A New English Version translation by Stephen Mitchell. This book is very much in accord with your sentiments that you have described here. This book is readily available at most Barnes and Noble or Border's Bookstores.

Second, pick up any good book on Kundalini Yoga. This system of Yoga allows you to experience God as he truly is.

You have to understand one thing: As Meister Eckhart, the Great German Philosopher and Theologian of 13th Century said: "God is Beyond All Thoughts. And, the that the Biggest Obstacle to understand God, is God himself". By that he meant the Image that we create in our minds as how God should or shouldn't be.

Good Luck To You .. :)

Re: Mona

by jamshid on

Dear Mona,

I read your quotes. They sound nice but I think god, if there is one, created human beings with the abilities to BOTH love and hate, to BOTH cooporate and ravage. He did not create us with the ability to just to love and cooporate.

It is up to us to choose between these opposites. We have a choice. But to God, it is as though you are choosing between a green and a red shirt, no other difference whatsoever.

jamshid

Shaer

Shaer: I read your poem in the link you provided. I read:

"The" Whole "Purpose" of "God" ..
"Is To Allow Us" .. "A" .."Transcendental" .."Experience" ..

Therefore" .."If" .."You" Believe ..

That "Believing" In A "Female" God .."Would" Enable You ..

"To" Attain "Transcendence" ..

"Then" .. "Do" So ..

Or a male god and so on...

Well, what about if NOT believing in god would enable me to do the same? Or believing that the universe itself is self creating and therefore it is God?

Don't get me wrong, I don't say there is no god! However, if there is a god, it must certainly be very different than the god of Islam/christianity/judism/zoroastrims/bahaism/etc... You know, the all mighty, all knowing, all "good" God.

I think if there is a god, he can be seen through his creation. I see both God and His creation being indifferent to the plight of human beings, just take a look at the laws of electricity, gravity, etc, the law of jungle, etc, it will lead you to the laws of creation/nature, the Law of God. The law of indifference to human struggles, indifference to good and evil, indifference to joy and pain.

If there is a god, he must be so beyond us that to him the difference between good and evil or joy and pain, is the difference between the colors of red and blue to us humans. No difference! None!

Either way, even if God exists, it is exactly the same as though if there was no god. So why even talk about an overseeer who does not oversee?

P.S. I do respect your beliefs. I am just expressing my personal conclusions with no disrespect intended.

Dear Jamshid

May I share this Qutation with you.

God has created men tolove each other; but instead, they kill each other with cruelty and bloodshed.

God has created them that they may cooperate and mingle in accord; but instead, they ravage, plunder and destroy in the carnage of battle.

God has created themto be the cause of mutual felicity and peace; but instead, discord, lamentation
and anguish rise from the hearts of the innocent and afflicted.....

It is always a pleasure talking to you :)

If You still have questions, Please Let Me Know, And I Will Gladly address them ..

jamshid

Shaer

by jamshid on

Dear Shaer,

If one can't figure out the reasons why God allows certain things, then how can one believe in Him with certainty? If nevertheless one chooses to still believe in Him, then his/her belief is not based on knowing, it is based on blindness.

An alternative, one that is based on the mind and logic, is to neither reject nor accept His existence with absolute certainty. This could lead to an uncomfortable and insecure living, but I choose that over the security and comfort of believing blindly.

So I will stick with the best truth.

However, I want to add that I do agree with your peom in principle. That going to hell toughens up the character and it could make a better person out of an individual. But even then, the same is not necessarily true with all "hellish" experiences, as there must be a limit to the degree of pain/hell one must endure. God, if there is one, seems not to care for a limit.

Shaer

"Jamshid"

by Shaer on

Thank you for your Comment ..

If we "Truly" believe In A God, then We Have To Accept The Fact That He Allows Certain Things To Happen For Certain reasons ..

Sometimes We Can Figure Out The Reasons, And sometimes We Just Can't ..

We Have To Be At "Peace" With That Either way ..

Tks again ..

Well said. I like the part

by jamshid on

Well said. I like the part that goes like this:

"To Go Through Hell, Not For Our deeds .. "

"But, To Make Us More Like Him .. "

Now, tell this verse to the little innocent girl/boy who is being brutally raped and tortured by a sadist monster, just about...

... just about right now somewhere in the world... I am sure God is allowing it in order for that child to "become more like Him."

What a fantastic concept.
