Amistad

Amistad

It felt quite different to watch "Amistad" this time around. I guess the ever present memories of the recent experience of the "Green Movement" in Iran over shadows my thoughts as well as my feelings, whether I am aware of it or not. I sat there clinching my fists at times, shedding tears at others and longing for those who have ever lost their lives for freedom.

In passing, one might think the movie is about some slaves on the board of a Spanish cargo ship: "Amistad" but lo and behold IT turned out to be one of the historical elements that developed to become the turning point of the American history in the early 1840s.

The ex-president, John Quincy Adams, represented the Africans in the case, United States of America Vs. Amistad at the Supreme Court.

I wept uncontrollably as he turned to the Justices and said, "We desperately need your strength and wisdom... to triumph over our fears, our prejudices, ourselves. Give us the courage to do what is right. And if it means civil war, then let it come. And when it does, may it be, finally, the last battle of the American Revolution."
Is this what lays ahead in Iran? Is this what Iran and Iranians need?

Freedom cannot be given. It is our right at birth. But there are moments in time when it MUST be taken.

About Islam I agree 100%. Islam has been the biggest chain around Iran for 1400 year. We must reject it; all of it; without any preconditions. It must go and never return to save Iran.

So we are on the same page. That is why in every action I promote things that oppose it. I have raise my children to know that Islam is the single greatest threat to the world.

The good thing is that Iran has an antidote to Islam. It is nationalism. That is why Islamist get so bent out of shape over it. They whine about racism and fascism. Why: they are afraid. They know that nationalism is powerful and will defeat Islam. We must bring our kids up to internalize nationalism as their second nature. That way Islam will whiter and die. Iran will be free.

Our unwitting allies are the Mullahs. By their actions they have so discredited Islam to make are job possible. It won't be simple but at least it is possible. Given hard work.

The ONLY reason I feel this way is the fact that the religious angle here is the pivoting factor. It is the number one reason why these people were not rejected by the Iranian people right after all the lies and deceits were uncovered soon after the Islamic takeover.

I do, however, hang my hat on the fact that there may be, just may be a glimer of hope that Iranians will wake up (as some of the young people already have) to see this situation for what it is: a bunch of opportunistic clergy and their thug supporters feeding on our heritage, culture and resources jeopardizing (already has happened) Iran's position as a viable nation that can shine on the international stage instead of being branded a terrorist and rouge nation.

I blame Islam for every single shortcomings that we , as a nation, have.

I feel this not for my benefit, not for my gain, but for the vibrant young and resourceful nation that is now under tremendous negative pressure of an (apparent) ideolgy that is falwed to its rotten core.

Right or wrong, I blame Islam, for every single shortcoming that we, as a nation, have.

I could not disagree more. Iranians have had several revolutions in the past 100+ years. We  will have more.  It is an unfortunate trait of some to discount Iranian resolve. We are not "to sari khor". Never were and never will be.

Iranian people want freedom. We may be pushed around for a while. Shah made that mistake and so do the Mullahs. They will find out the hard way. Mark my words that there are big changes in the air bigger than what happened in Russia.

Civil War?

I hope not, but it is unlikely. We Iranians are wishy washy at best. We have allowed a bunch of anti nationalist thugs to beat us over the head for 30 plus years and have barely raised our heads to say..."nazan baba, mage tu khodet irooni nisti??"

My guess is until there's an incentive for some external power to have a change in Iran, there will be none. In 1979, there was a need for the great powers to change the regime to one that they knew would deconstruct not only the country, but set us back many many decades - if not centuries!

I say this because I do not see a great resolve in many Iranians to deviate from the status quo. The prevalent islamic so called ideology that is apparently the basis of the divine state of velayat faghih and the flawless propaganda appratus of the islamic regime has made sure that the masses continue to cling to the same non sensical beliefs and thought patterns that has kept them a slave to the arab religion for 14 centuries.

No...need not worry....Iranians will continue to endure injustice and tyranny which is hiding under a powdery light make up that says.."I'm indepndent...., I stand up to the big bad West..... now, bend over..."

All you have to do to check this hypoteheis is to read their malijaks' postings on this website.
