It is called Mallakhamb players, but I am not sure if this is a new form of gymnastics in India , but the 'guys" doing the pole-dancing are pretty good at it. The Mallakhamb players did not ask for Rupee bills and none were given out.
Night-club dancers: eat your heart out. Cute music too:

by Mehrban on Mon Aug 16, 2010 06:26 PM PDTI had a classmate in college that could be a flag which is the pose that you hold the pole and stretch horizontally from it. I used to think that was incredible. Now this is incredible. thank you for posting.
information on Mallakhamb from wiki
by MM on Mon Aug 16, 2010 05:46 PM PDTMallakhamb or Malkhamb is a traditional Indian sport in which a gymnast performs feats and poses while hanging from a vertical wooden pole or rope. Mallakhamb also refers to the pole used in the sport.
The word "Mallakhamb" is composed of malla which denotes a gymnast or a man of strength and khamb which means a pole. Mallakhamb can therefore be translated to English as pole gymnastics.
