Above: An Iranian mother receives the remains of her son.

To this day, thousands of families still don't know what became of their sons, fathers, husbands and brothers - and still have no grave to visit.

What is this, a trial?

Yes and were found "guilty but insane".

I'm sorry that your brother was lost in the war, vildemose.

I will assume that your question about who started the war is an honest and sincere one.

I'm no expert.

But we humans aren't helpless either and can really try to find out - without any tour guide.

I'll address that in another blog entry, thanks for the idea.

I have no explanations to give anyone.

What is this, a trial?

Go somewhere else if you don't like it.

Why do you run away from the main issue JK?

by anglophile on

Isn't is it odd, to say the least, for a mixed up kid who has been braying anti-Iran mumbo jumbo since his first comment, to suddenly mourn the Iranian war dead?  Hakim is not an example to  follow kiddo. We don't need you to remind us of our war dead.

JK: DId your father's family lose anyone in the war? I lost my brother needlessly...He should have been alive and sitting right next to me right now.

Who do you think was responsible for unleashing  this bloody war and then extended it for his diabolical agenda??

Imagine that this is your relative...

by JahanKhalili on

... (which it is).

Would you spend time engaging in petty arguments with me, or would you observe silence, the way civilized people would?

Oon Yaroo

Every Iranian knows of a family member, a relative, a friend,

by Oon Yaroo on

a classmate, or a neighbor who lost their lives in the Iran-Iraq war!

The Iran-Iraq war is a tragedy that has left its ugly and painful scars on all of us and will stay around for generations to come!

This tragic scene is tantamount to bringing to justice all those IRR criminals who instigated the conflict with Iraq/Sad'dam, fueled it by luring in the likes of this old lady's son, prolonged it, and were reluctant to minimize the loss and suffering until the very last day when they were forced to drink the cup of poison!

More despicable people than the IRR war criminals are those who have conveniently lost their memory in remembering as to who the main culprits in instigating Sad'dam and taking American hostages were and therefore take the path of least resistance to blame the west for this misery!

Having JK asking for decency is really funny. I have never read more hate from anyone on this site than JK. Then asks for decency!

anglophile

Decency JK?

by anglophile on

For an Iran basher and Iran hater that you are decency is an alien word. Many of the visitors to this blog have not read your other documented blogs and comments on Iranian.com. Those blogs and comments are replete with hate-filled AND immature/uneducated comments of a disgruntled child who is unhappy with his birth papers. All I am doing is enlightening them to your true colours. Why are you so worried kiddo? Let the readers be the judge otherwise Ahmadinejad can shed more convincing crocodile tears over the war dead.

Shut Up, Anglophile

by JahanKhalili on

Show some decency and be quiet.

anglophile

Guess what your mentor "Hakim" was doing those days?

by anglophile on

Enjoying a life of safety and comfort. courtesy of his Imam Khomeini. (and you were not far away either!!). Save your crocodile tears for later kiddo.

your blog picture is heart-breaking

It is also more tragic to to multiply the sadness conveyed by this picture by one million grieving families who are still wondering why they lost thier loved ones.

Thanks for this post

I have recently become fascinated by the details of the war, and purchased a long list of books about it. There is so much people just simply do not know...but one thing is for sure, the tragedy and pain caused by the way is beyond anyone's comprehension.

Thanks for your decency on this. And thanks for repecting Iranians on this.

It is heartbreaking

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on

I would like to add none of it would have happened without the revolution. And it would have been a lot less of it had Khomeini not decided to prolong the war by 6 years.
