Respected Enquirer: FYI
by faryarm on Sat Jun 13, 2009 04:26 PM PDTThis is a short clip about the coming of Abdul Bahai to New York, as a distinguished Persian nobleman and an Ambassador of peace fro the East.
Abdul Baha was only 8 years old when He lef His homeland Iran, and sent into exile , with His Father Baha;u'llah by The Qajar King, Nasiridin Shah in 1852.
He lived as an Iranian exile and captive of the Ottoman Turks in Akka until He was free to travel to the west in 1911.
In 1912 He came to New York City. (the same week as the Titanic's voyage ) This video is a short description of HIs trip and its purpose.
Judging by the impression He left on westerners, and the many luminaries and leaders of thought of the time who sought to meet Him in person; Abdul Baha was no doubt a peerless Ambassador for Iran and Persian culture at a time when exiled Qajar princes were running a mock in London, Paris and casinos on the french Riviera.
I hope this video is a would be a good eye opener as to why He was no "Akhund".
Abdul Baha's Visionary statements in 1875, about Iran, as a progressive free, and democratic Society are truly relevant to the state of our nation today and the mistakes, the pain and misery our nation has had to endure and is till enduring, because of the Religious Establishment's rejection of his message and their brutal CLING to power.

Thank you
by Adib Masumian on Sat Jun 13, 2009 11:53 AM PDTBeautiful prayer Faryar jan. Thanks so much; God bless Iran.
Dear Enquirer, the man in the picture is `Abdu'l-Baha, and he was neither an akhond nor a mulla. He lived from 1844 to 1921 and he is wearing the traditional garb of elderly Persians at the time: a turban and an `aba. He was a Baha'i (son of its founder, Baha'u'llah, as a matter of fact) and not a Muslim. There is no clergy in the Baha'i Faith.
I sincerely hope this sheds some light on the matter for you.
All the best,
Adib
Thanks for the prayer.
