CASMII Columnist Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich amongst Expat Guests of Ahmadinejad ?
by Darius Kadivar
17-Aug-2010

Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich regular Columnist for CASMII (Campaign Against Sanctions and Military Intervention in IRAN) seems to have been present at the  “Grand Conference of Iranians Living Abroad” organized by Iran's President Ahmadinejad. Last January I had noticed Mrs. Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich (with whom I have had the honor of cyber Jousting on this very website on a few occasions ) make some outrageous comments in support of President Ahmadinejad and her dismissing of the reality of the Green Movement aided by Hillary Leverette in a debate on Aljazeera Opposing the two to TIME magazine correspondent Azadeh Moaveni (see IRI APOLOGISTS OUT IN FULL FORCE ! )

Since Mrs. Sepahpour -Ulrich has been a feature writer on the Iranian.com maybe she can Confirm or Deny her presence as it seems to be suggested in the following footage of this IRI TV Report :

DISCLAIMER: If this is not the case, then Mrs. Sepahpour -Ulrich please accept my sincere Apologies for the eventual Prejudice caused by this blog to your reputation ...

unfortunately not! am soooo upset :((

do you think i should now pull my hair out in public?!

i also sense a gestapo tendency here... naming and shaming?! for attending an iranian conference?

don't you think some people should have better things to do with their lives than act like the brown shirts wing of the gestapo? 'clever informants'?!

of these charlatans swaying to music, and clapping as iranians are being raped, murdered and tortured.  When this unholy regime falls, these hypocrites will change sides at the blink of an eye.  But we'll know better.

The pre 1979 world exists; it just moved to  the 21st century. The whole world except IRI and North Korea are in it. You andyour idiot IRI are the hold outs who are seeking a pre 600 world. Now honestly if you got there how would you post? They did not have computers. What about your latte? What would you do!! You may have to settle for beer but that is anti Islamic.

Personally I am seeking a world without of at least with fewer morons in charge. It is the 21st century; I just want the 6th century dip*** out of power.

Dunno but apparently she was not alone amongst CASMII Columnists

Nader Bagherzadeh is mentioned amongst the following people on this self proclaimed Pro Green movement website ( for which I cannot vouch on the authenticity or not of it's claims):

That is Why I welcome Mrs. Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich & Nader Bagherzadeh's Feedbacks in this regard if they wish to enlighten us ...

You see, we're not all self-hating, anti-Iran screwballs seeking a pre-79 world that no longer exists.

Good news.

Nothing wrong with, indeed excelent sounding organisation

by yousef on

"Campaign against military intervention in Iran" is

The wrong is their "columnists" who prefer to bow to ahmadinezhad the hated dictator of Iran, for financial gratifications, instead of working towards the aims of this organisation as suggested in the grand name..

From her articles and interviews Ms. Sepahpour seems very vocal and surefooted about her political convictions.  I wish she would come forward and explain her reasons so that perhaps we can understand what was going on through the heads of those guests who accepted the invitation.

DK - RP and the drumbeats of war

by MM on

I read your reference on Mrs. Sepahpour-Ulrich on where RP stands on war with Iran.  While I agree that, publicly, Reza Pahlavi has spoken against a war/attack on Iran (Mrs. Ulrich's comments excluded), this is the time for RP to come out in force against DC's drumbeats of war with Iran, especially given the passage of the war authorization act that is being sponsored by AIPAC and Co.  RP's silence in this regard is deafening.  I appologize in advance, if I have missed RP's public account on the war authorization act / the current war-mongering efforts.

A writer of highest, even IC standard

by benross on

Well, DK had to refresh my memory because I couldn't remember her writing in IC in the period I am here. But I saw her excellent writing skill and depth of her thoughts in the first piece she has in CASMII site:

Katie Couric's interview on CBS News on July 7 leaves little doubt that she considers Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel's Prime Minister as the boss and that President Obama is irrelevant... >>read more

I think the funniest part was the link at the end of the paragraph saying read more!

Now I know her depth of thoughts. But the question remains. Can she sing too?

"Soraya Sepahpour-Ulrich"

by Anonymous Observer on

You know, I have had a few back and forths on this site withthis creature, Spraya Sepahpoor…whatever. She is another left over U.S. hating socialist, who according to one exchange that I had with her, was sipping wine in the U.S. when Iran was being bombed by the Iraqis in the 1980’s, and when people like me and my family were war refuges in Iran and scattered around the country.  She is a despicable human being, and accordingly, she deserves Ahmadinejad.
