Got a few hours layover here in Doha, Qatar (Ghatar) and thought I'd share this with my esteemed Pur...Pur...Persian hamvatans who are so united these days....he he.... sorry, must be the long plane ride.
Holly freaking human feces....This place is the little western infidel oasis in the divine desert. Mini skirts (airport, mind you), I.com is not banned (hee haaw) and all the scotch on the rocks you can drink! - Compared to Da Kingdom, these folks are infidel to the bone.
What gives?
May be I'll find out.

Some quick replies
by Cost-of-Progress on Tue Jun 21, 2011 11:00 AM PDTEsfand,
feel better now? Are you still mad cause I don't identify myself as moslem? Is this what you wanted to tell me all along and somehow you weren't sure how? Glad you got it off your chest my, may I say secular, hamvatan who identifes himself as moslem. Dude, I go where I go because I want to see the glory of what you folks are mesmerized with..... has nothing to do with my dislike of 14 centuries of forced divinity. I realize what's going on in the world, bro'. You see, the trouble with folks like you is that you have thrown the heritage bathwater out with your dislike of the Pahlavi baby - Catch my drift? I do not suffer from things like that. What I post is as real as is the 40 C heat in this place.
Mehrdad, This place, it looks, is different than the rest of the Arrrrrabian Peninsula, but I bet only on the surface.
Yolanda, Right you are darlin', but it is PERSIAN Gulf forever,

Wow… COP in Doha, Gatar?!?!?! :)
by Bavafa on Tue Jun 21, 2011 10:18 AM PDTI can NOT imagine this to be a personal/pleasure trip and I hope you are getting the extra hazardous/hardship fee as part of your compensation for this trip, even if there are mini skirt in the view :)
The conversation some times comes up in our circle of friends/family and I often say, there are a few countries that I will strongly resist traveling to for work and certainly not for personal/pleasure despite having a great interest to see that part of the world. All 'Shiekh-neshin' countries (i.e SA, Kuwait, Syria, Iraq, Bahrain...) Israel and Iran are part of that list. But I do really hope one day to visit some of those nations when they have a more responsible and civil minded government (with mini skirt and all)
Safe travel

4someone whose against 1400 yrs of invasion, u sure more arab!
by Esfand Aashena on Tue Jun 21, 2011 09:58 AM PDTThan most of us combined! Even our resident IRI lovers don't go to Arab countries and mingle and make business with Arabs as much as you do! What gives?! Do they talk about 1400 years of lazy ass Iranians over there?!
Maybe that's why you're so infidel! Like Tiger Woods being family man, and Senator Larry Craig legislating anti-gay legislation and Clarence Thomas heading the anti-woman harrassment division of the Justice Department! hehehe! just kidding!
Everything is sacred
