How Satisfied?

How Satisfied?

Now, I am not one who would rain on anyone’s parade…well, OK, I might piss on the Islamists parade, but that comes naturally as it should. Just looking around, I usually find some statistics that are disturbing and interesting at the same time. I’m talking about the “Road to Glory” that the cleric regime is paving for Iran and her people; the promised land of independence and prosperity. One that does not look like will materialize anytime soon…or ever - as long as Iran is being run by a bunch of religious Neanderthals. Anyway, here are some quick stats for the thug regime chest beaters to chew on…I know, I know, this is all a Zionist conspiracy and everything is honky dory…..I post anyway.

1. Iran is highest in annual prevalence of opiates usage (big surprise, ay?) – 2.8% of population – that is just under 2 million people SCHmoking and playing the alternate flute. With this number of people high, who would worry about an uprising, besides those who do are labeled anti-Islam and anti-revolution (which is actually a good thing)

2. A slightly better rank is that of “Satisfaction with Life Index” – our beloved motherland ranks 96 out of 178, Hey not bad haa? Only if you disregard the following: UAE ranks 22nd, while Oman and the Saudis rank 30 and 31 respectively….......OUCH. And you thought you had created the perfect utopic Islamic state….After over 30 years, this is your gift to our people and country.

Here’s the reference sites so JJ doesn’t jump on my case.

Anahid jaan thanks

by Anonymouse on

I don't respond to emails and prefer to have exchanges in the comments section.  Yes I took a break from i.com for a year and wrote for persianmirror.com which is a very good website.  I just wished they continued their comments section as well.  They had it in the beginning but closed it because they didn't have time to monitor the comments when people abused it.

Anahid Hojjati

Dear Anonymouse, do you remember?

by Anahid Hojjati on

I don't know if you remember but I believe in winter (or was it spring) of 2009, I read couple of your blogs on PerianMirror and wrote to you that I liked your writing. I don' t believe you answered and I think at that time, you were taking a break from IC but then you came back to IC.

Yes Pahlevan

by Cost-of-Progress on

The misery and harm inflicted on Iran by this anti Iranian regime and their filthy cyber goons is far deeper than what's presented in a ranking website. However, this gives us a "tip of the iceberg feel" for the type of damage being done to iran and her people.

Unfortunately, the current hugs use fear, murder and intimidation to rule far greater than any regime in the recent memory. These are trying times, to say the least, for Iran and her people.

by Sargord Pirouz on

This reminds me of that Hogan's Heroes episode, where Klink asks Hogan if he's satisfied, then the men each ask one another if they're satisfied, and Shultz finally asks Klink: "Herr Commandant, are you satisfied?"

Just as humorous, too.

Iran drug addiction rate surpasses population rate 3 times

by Pahlevan on

Pahlevan

The drug usage stats are not accurate

by Pahlevan on

Dear COP,

Number of drug addicts in Iran are much higher that. Here are some old stats that I am sure have gotten much worse today:

Addiction: Iran has the highest opiate drug addiction rate
in the world (source: 2005 UN World Drug Report) with an estimated 3-5
million drug addicts in Iran.

Depression: 21% of the population (15 million people) suffer
from depression (sources: official Iranian government report, November
2005, Iranian Ministry of Health report, October 2005).

Mental illness: Over 10% of the population suffers from at
least one psychiatric disorder (source: survey conducted by the Clinical
Practice and Epidemiology in Mental Health).

Prostitution: There are an estimated 600,000 prostitutes in
Iran – many are runaways who have fled abusive families, or the very
poor who have no other way of earning a living; The number of
prostitutes in Iran has grown 2000% in 4 years (est. 30,000 in Sept
2002, source: Hadi Motamedi, top official at State Welfare
Organization); Thousands of Iranian women and girls have been sold into
sexual slavery abroad ... Source

Also according to a German journalist IRI is, not surprisingly, fudging the numbers:

In order to reach the places they hide, the German journalists made concessions such as the quotation of official statistics -1 million of permanent drug addicts, 700,000 occasional ones. Those statistics minimize the problem extent and contradict the first statement according to which Iran disposes of the world’s highest drug addict population -7 to 11 millions of Iranians and among them 16% to 21% of consumers by injection. You're naughty until proven otherwise!

by Anonymouse on

Especially since you invoked JJJ about the link you provided at the end of your blog!  Besides since you go to Iran and see movie banners here and there it is highly unlikely that you don't know who he is!  You are naughty and I rest my case!

Got it in an email a while ago

by Cost-of-Progress on

I was able to retrieve the email (find it, that is) and detach the photo to use here. Who'd have guessed it'd create so much traction?

Statwise, ranking way behind UAE (which until the mid 70's was nothing but a bunch of desert tent dwellers) says a lot about this regime. Unfortunately, this means nothing to a lot of people!

Semi-naughty because I didn't photo shop him!

by Anonymouse on

You say you didn't photo shop him?  Does that mean you picked it up off of internet somewhere?  If so, please post the link so we can see who was naughty!

As far as statistics for Islamic Republic, they're not on top of any indexes that are good or positive.  Their pride is to show the deficiencies in US and the West.  Their news and statistics is for domestic consumption only and block internet access, or at least try to block, so there is no "evidence" of their screw-ups.

Now, isn't that better? and why semi naughty..I say full naughty

by Cost-of-Progress on

be peer, be payghambar I do not know this dude. I didn't even photoshop this, but like I said, I like the comparison which you are so vehemently against....or are you against it becasue he is the subject, I dunno.... Afterall, this guy is PURRRRSSSSIIIIAAAANNN, no? or is he EEERRRAAANIAN??

So....what do you think of the stats here? sorry to derail the talk about the eye candy dude...

I too have used him as a photo in one of my blogs at Persianmirror.com   (puuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrr :-) in Feb 2009, about 2 years ago though when he was more famous then!  And I didn't give him the title of THE PERSIAN guy!

You're still sticking with your claim that "you don't know who he is"?!

by Anonymouse on

No I'm not Persian, I'm Iranian!  Had you identified Prince Chubby as the Persian guy people would've commented about him.  The whole point about Arab and Persians are as old as the Sunni and Shiite, especially for us in the US.

I actually like this photo and it can speak volumes, to the believers!  We may hear from some Iranian, sorry Perrrrrssssian, ladies about your choice of Iranian, sorry again Purrrrrrrrrsssssian, male!

MRG is presumably "eye candy" to them and that's why you are so naughty!

If you're referring to the photo, I had nothing else at my disposal, and hence this one. I am not sure I even know this guy MRG, you mention.

I actually like the comparison - the point - individuals are irrelevant. Beside, why only concentrate on the photo??

Cheers.

Are you saying Mohammad Reza Golzar is the next Persian 'King"?!

by Anonymouse on

Why would you choose him as the representative for "Persians"?! LOL!  He is like the male Kim Kardashian!  I hate KK but not MRG!  That's funny!

The only plausible explanation I can think of is that you don't think highly of Prince Chubby!
