by Abarmard on Tue Mar 24, 2009 11:05 AM PDTI agree. I was just making a comment that he was a great leader for his time and father of Iran :)
Very Funny
by Anonymous111 (not verified) on Tue Mar 24, 2009 11:01 AM PDTIf Cyrus or Korosh if any of his relative were alive, these people will be the first to kill'em. That is why they call us "Morde Parast"
This is so touching
by IRANdokht on Tue Mar 24, 2009 10:54 AM PDTI am very impressed with our youth and the ways of civil disobedience that they come up with. There is absolutely no negative message in visiting Cyrus the Great's tomb and paying respect to a fair and peaceful emperor.
Of course it was not a Democracy J, but Iran was gloriously ruled by one person who loved the country and its people and worked in their best interest, treated them all equal and made Iran one of the super powers of the time. Look what happened when they voted 2500 years later! they picked an Islamic Republic!!! Democracy obviously doesn't work well for us :o)
I just think it's great to have so many young people there despite the difficulties and the dangers that this peaceful gathering might cause.
Thanks Farzad for the pictures of hope

Not so sure
by Jahanshah Javid on Tue Mar 24, 2009 10:08 AM PDTAbarmard, Cyrus was great for his time, yes. He should be honored as a historical figure. But do we really need him today, for the establishment of a democracy?
It seems to me that the glorification of Cyrus and Iran's pre-Islamic past is more in response to the horrors of the Islamic Republic. Which is fine and natural. But I wouldn't be joining the Cyrus the Great Party, if one was ever formed. I would join the Democracy Party, pure and simple.
Jahanshah
by Abarmard on Tue Mar 24, 2009 09:57 AM PDTFor his time he was. Not fair to judge him based on todays standards. Still interestingly enough, arguably he would still be a better ruler now than many modern systems around the world.
Beautiful
by farokh2000 on Tue Mar 24, 2009 09:55 AM PDTThis is great. I hope the crowd grows by thousands next time.
Hopefully, the criminal Mullahs will not interfere.
Very nice
by Jahanshah Javid on Tue Mar 24, 2009 09:47 AM PDTCyrus the Great was not exactly a democrat, but this is a nice gesture. Pretty amazing.

Good move
by Abarmard on Tue Mar 24, 2009 09:35 AM PDTIf more Iranians join every year, this would be a great message to the world about peace and prosperity.
