Saeidy Sir Jani is probably one of the all around greatest writers in Iran, unlike you and I he was killed by IR, some respect. A bit of familiarity with these writers might come in handy, cheers & out.

and  he was not fooled BY ANYONE including Khomeini, he opposed him from the start, even before the start.

But he wasn't the only one, every single one of those writers I mentioned below, very soon figured out what they (we) were dealing with (they all were also opposed to shah). There has always been a noticeable stratum of Iranian society that could not afford to have any illusions about IR.

For the Nth time: Islamic Republic is, in more than one way, a direct outgrowth and product of 35 years of corrupt, brutal monarchy in Iran, cheers

Actually a lot of people understood

by Mash Ghasem on

Ahmad Shamloo, Mostafa Rahimi, Haj Sid Javadi, Sir Jani,...the entire staff of Ayandegan, all women who went to 1979 March 8th demo;  they all reffered to " the creeping sound of fascism," six months before this speech.

Shamlou, according to all accounts was dead set against Khomeni before day one; somehow it wasn't enough: the balance of forces was not in their favour.

BTW, this speech also initiated closer of Ayandegan and the military onslaught on Kurdestan.

Mohammad Ghaed editor of the daily is finishing or has finished a book on the history of Ayandegan after revolution, his take on this speech should be very intresting.

No body understood

No one American understood the Islamofascists, and Middle East dictators as well as GWB. When history judges him, I guarantee it will be in very positive light. He has freed Iraq, we know Saddam, and his dracula sons would have killed every Iraqi before giving up power. Lucky for the Iraqis now that their country is free. As for Iranians, they are unlucky to have the wussy in the white house, a guy who can't even condemn what seems to be a fairly straight forward, and clear moral issue in Libya.

Many more Iranians have to die to free the country than if Islamic rapist assets were bombed by the Americans. Even the defected ambassador now says that Islamofascists apparatus is willing to kill 3 million people before giving up power.
