Alireza Pahlavi

Shah younger son takes his own life

BBC: The younger son of the Shah of Iran, Prince Alireza Pahlavi, has killed himself in the US after a long battle with depression, his brother says. Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi said family and friends had been plunged into "great sorrow" at news of the death. "It is with immense grief that we would like to inform our compatriots of the passing away of Prince Alireza Pahlavi," he said in a statement. Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was ousted in Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution. See related blog

by Jonny Dollar on

My family fought in the revolution, but I have nothing against this young man. We all are victims of the revolution in different ways. As much as it was hard for us, it must have been 100 times harder for these kids to adjust to a normal life.

Why the kids in this poor family keep commiting suiside? It is hard not having a father when you were used to a one who was god like. One thing good about islam is that suicide is against islam.

"God is love!"

It's suicide people... here is why:

by KingReza on

It's a hard life being a Pahlavi. Imagine being Alireza. First off, No one would ever hire you. I wouldn't want a prince working at my company. Do you know the type of baggage that would bring. " Hello everyone, I would like to introduce you all to Dr. Alireza Pahlavi. The newest addition to our company. He was a prince in Iran." I have a hard time asking my co-workers for a pen as it is. I don't even know how to approach working with a guy whose dad used to be a king.

Second off, this guy wouldn't be able to fit in any Iranian/Persian community. It'll be so hard to talk to the guy at a party. "Hey man, sorry about your dad and sister, but I go to your website all the time and appreciate all the stuff you're writing from time to time. It maybe irrelevant and not do much but it's pretty noble." Then he would have to clear things by telling you that's his brother's website and not his. Then there's going to be long awkward silence and you have to slowly walk away

Third off Imagine growing up having tens of thousands of people running through the streets yelling "Death to your dad." Ripping his picture, making fun of him and insulting him day in and day out. Then imagine going to Harvard and studying Iran's history and leaning that your dad kinda deserved it. It's a tough life

Finaly, everyone's going to be always disappointed when you show up to a costume party dressed up as anything other than "Prince of Persia"

too soon?

Thank you for Sharing what you heard. I wrote what I thought. Very similar. I so believe this man's blood is being Shed. I believe in it, something within me cries it. I never knew him. I never did know of him, heard of him. That tells you I am not into Politics. This man is killed. His death has been planned. I was a baby when revolution happened... something will come out of this...

the first amendment of US constitution, guarantees the freedom of expression and speech and Press, unless there is a Compelling governmental(US) interest in restricting its Content, and even then such limitation must be the least restrictive way to achieve such interest. Moreover gov may restrict place/time/manner of expression, but must leave an ample alternative for expression. your speech would be protected unless you cause imminent illegal/criminal act in a crowd, etc. I believe you get same if not more freedom in expression in Europe.

You may write a Full story of what you have just said, and send it to one/more of the news Agency's such as Guardian.  singed Anonymous...or to Belogs such as Hafington Post (spelling)....Stay away from Any Gov news Agencies

If you don't do it, you will blame yourself...try to send it while the subject is hot and it is so called "news worthy"

Why you call him "YOUNG" all the time?

by Souri on

He was not a child anymore! He was 44 yeasr old man. A handsome, wealthy, educated and mature and sociable 44 years old man, who has killed himself....or so they say. But don't try to put the guilt on his family, like he was a little child, in need of love,  having been neglected by his mother and brother. Grow up, men!

The good behavior of the people, warms our heart and make us thankful.....  And the bad ones, just make us to recognize and appreciate the good ones!

when someone as young as he commits suicide.

Were any family member or friend with him during the Christmas holidays? Did he spend Christmas and New year alone by himself? I know of other young Iranian man/woman who committed suicide during the Christmas/new year holidays. In both cases they were alone by themselves.

May his soul rest in peace.

Don't cry Iran

by opinionpost on

I was very little. Every one said, Shah is gone. Us children, would be punished, if we said "Javid Shah". I did cry when someone at the Gym wanted me to say "marg Bar khomeini" to play Table Tennis with me. A Table I could only see with the help of a chair. I refused to say it,......I was almost 3 years Old....My mom ( a Doctor) voted for "Dr. sami". Later I saw her crying, Dr. Sami was shot and killed.... There were T-shirts sold in the street with bani sadr's Pic on it, we begged our dad to buy it for us... later he escaped, Ghotbzadeh was executed.  We could not wear the Shirts any more I can not believe we grew up to become adults witnessing such Terrorism. I thought "Uriana Falachi ( spelling)" was a reporter of crazy things, when I was little reading her books... I thought it was a joke.... " to my child who was never born"!!! Guess what? I have never ever seen more theorist than this regime.... I have all the reason to believe, this is Not a natural death...." Too much Blood shed, Too Much... blood shed started.... lets ask Mohamade Sazegar, one of them, made of them, changed later.... I tell myself... I am confused,I am saddened, who should we ask? we ask ourselves.... I remember... Don't cry Argentina.... I remember don't cry Chile...  I repeat Don't cry Iran....I find "Zahra Eshraghi" in my classmate's facebook!!! with around 4000 Friends... A fat ass shameless , grand daughter of shameless... I wanne ask her" do you wane go back to India"... I wiped all my former classmates name from my memory....And Alireza is not with us...they say, he had so much pain,,,,, I do too...

I'm responsible only for my actions.

by Truth-Set-You-Free on

Norooz, I don't blame you for not believeing what I wrote. Honestly , I can't believe it myself. I can't believe that some one would tell me something more than a decade ago and that will cause me wonder, confusion the whole day.

I could not work much today, and I have been wondering and going over and over the story. I called a couple friends and told them as well, they advised me to get some sleep and not worry and more over not to do anything stupid. I would love to go back to work and mind my own business. It is just hard. A sense of wonder that this guy whom I was a guest for is really what he says he is or this young man really killed himself has been bothering me the whole day.

Ofcourse, conversation with this person was much longer than what I wrote here. But again I'm not a political person, I'm not that old, I was very young when revolution happened. I don't know who is who and I don't care. But I really can't accept that people should be targeted and killed decades after a revolution.

So what one needs to do, not say anything when you feel burdened with something that is needed to be said.

It seems like a story to myself even but I swear that it happened.

Please
people lets be honest: you may like Pahlavi or hate them. Either way we
have to accept the truth. Even if you think that he deserved to die,
that is OK and that is your opinion. you are entitle t it. But
reversing the factsorthe truth for any reason is an insult to our
dignity and our intelligence.

why we post/talk on conspiracy theories on the death of prince?

by opinionpost on

J. F. Kennedy died years ago. Still at universities, we have Kennedy's death consipiracy as courses being thought.

The country of "Hash Hash" is us, my dear. The country of "years behind is us dear". The best time to talk about "conspiracy" is when we think of it. Is when the clues are out. I need to hear what people think. That is why I am hear. If I wanted a "khaleh soghra Taziyeh" , because I can not take it. I will go to my kitchen, turn the news and light a candle. This is a web site to exchange ideas... so, it triggers some enlightening. I don't want tomorrow, some one else from opposition dies, because "khaleh soghra" wanted a "hash hash" forum. Please accept my apology for bluntness. It is painful, yet better be to the same degree enlightening....  and yes, my dear, this is connected to internet and many will read this, just by using key words search. And yes, Iran's government , and many others would try to trace the physical addresses of the computers posting such belogs. And no this is science not conspiracy...(this is what happens with engine searches) . I am sure Banou Farah may read it, and Prince Reza may as well.... and others you mentioned Thank you dear! Payandeh bashid va tasliat migam be shoma banouye vatan parast... I know you mean well....

Souri, thanks for your comment. I understand your point and I must say it is valid to some point. However, hearing what I did hear long ago and having seen that happen in reality shaked my core and my bones. I don't think any one would understand what I have been through since I heard the news.

I just felt that it is my responsibility to tell people what I heard with my own ears. I think people and readers of this blog deserve to know that.

But again thanks for your input. May God bless us all.

there are many things we don't know.... there are things going on we don't know....

A person on drugs kill himself with drugs. A person killing himself because of his sister, kills himself with the same instrument she has killed herself. with Gun? Shut Gun? There would be a vey strange pattern of way some one chooses to kill himself.  In this case, unless he was an Schizophrenic paranoia, out of medication...  and even then....I like to see full police/forensic report. Something is not connecting...We remain Sad, but strong... They may destroy our country, they would never destroy our dignity...

Okay we heard you, since the first time. We are neither the FBI nor the office of Reza Pahlavi. If you are so much concerned by this case, then write this in an email and send it to RP personally. He may take a look at it, while he'll never come here to check your post even if you repeat it 100 times here.
I've just heard another story around his death, which is also too terrible to bear. But I won't say it because this is not the time nor the place for talking of those stuff. The only truth we have now, is that he is dead and left his family in sorrow. The rest, will be in the hands of the future to deal with.
May his soul rest in peace.

The shady parts of the news!

by Truth-Set-You-Free on

Please read for yourselves. What is wrong with this picture:

//news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110105/ap_on_re_us/us...

If you ask for my 2 cents:

Reading article about his
death, things don't make sense. He kiiled
himself with a gun in his house with no one there, yet police got a
phone call at 2:00 am that he is dead in his place (and police doens;
know who he was). AliReza never had a gun?! He might have been down but
people who knew him said he was very warm, nice, always smiling and
sociable. These are not characteristics of a suicidal man. He was very
active doing different sports and studying a phD. Why would someone
like that killhimself.

Please
people lets be honest: you may like Pahlavi or hate them. Either way we
have to accept the truth. Even if you think that he deserved to die,
that is OK and that is your opinion. you are entitle t it. But

I understand every one is Sad, but I can not help my thoughts

by opinionpost on

I have studied Medicine. I am a law student now...Do you expect me to Not be an ISSUE SPOTTER? This scenario is not, can not be a suicide. I don't buy it. I so want to take my camera and go to the funeral and make a report and then live in Boston and interview as many people I can. I strongly believe, this is NOT a suicide. And it does not matter who says what, I don't believe it to be a suicide. I am not happy that his brother right away says this was a suicide. How do you know dear prince? Why would you say it so fast?

A high profile individual, has studied in Harvard, in the midst of taking away subsidiaries in Iran, gets killed... do we have an economist here?  The situation is terribly unrest and will be more As Dr. Rais Dana(I think is his name) said (he is in Evin now).

If I rule out a contract murder in this scenario, my professor will give me "fail" in my essay....

I don't mean to be disrespectful..... just my thoughts, it very much reminds of Bakhtiyar's death but much more advanced.. No trace..left

Truth-Set-You-Free

Did Ali Reza commit Suicide or was he killed?!

by Truth-Set-You-Free on

More than 10 years ago, I happened to meet an Islamic security person-
To this day I don't know his position or rank or job. Some where he
happened to say that "We killed Bakhtiyar and our next high profile target is shahs younger son." I didn't take it seriously and never thought of it again. Today I almost fell off my chair when my friend told me that Alireza, shah's second son has committed suicide. I remembered 10 years ago and what I heard that day.
Curious and upset, I read about the incident and not very surprisingly there it was: " Some one called 911 at 2.00 am and police doesn't know who he
is!".
I have no doubt in mind that He DIDnot commit suicide but he
was forced to do so or the whole thing was staged by Islamic
revolutionary people. I must say that it is regrettable that Reza Pahlavi DID NOT wait enough to see what is behind this and stated that his brother was depressed.
ALireza may have been depressed but he was not suicidal. He was sociable , warm and far from some one who would shot himself.
I do hope that Reza Pahlavi or other family member will ask for FBI's help.
I do hope that they will not have their son's blood be shed in vain. Just
please do the investigation, it will not hurt. remember they killed
Shahpoor Bakhtiyar almost 20 years after revolution. so it is not
surprising to do so with ALireza when it was the most convenient. With
so many things happening in US and IRan and world. Killing a young man
is the last thing anyone would take seriously. God bless us all.
