prostitution
by smhb on Mon Dec 01, 2008 10:48 AM PSTIts the oldest business in the world. Possible root causes:
1- Poverty. Its the single most important phenomenon that leads to all sorta social ills including prostitution but not limited to it.
2- Women who do it willingly as a form of rebelion against the predominant norm.
3- Being forced into it by rings of criminals.
4- In the absence of poverty where money is not an issue and where you are dealing with women who are educated, beautiful and have everything going for them then you are looking at deeper psychological issues.
Im sure there are other reasons but these seem pretty clear and straight forward.
This is not about prostitution
by buddha10019 (not verified) on Mon Dec 01, 2008 10:39 AM PSTThis is not about prostitution. This is about slavery and forced labor. That it prays on hapless women to be sex slaves makes it even more tragic. Slavery is tragic and wrong - being forced to have sex as a slave is a crime on a complete other scale, than either prostitution and slavery.

by IRANdokht on Mon Dec 01, 2008 10:24 AM PST"death-related illnesses" ?? growing rice in UE's climate? what does rice have to do with prostitution? and it's good to know you're still friends of prostitutes...
If there was a prize for the least coherent nonsense disguised as comment, you and Faribors Maleknasri MD would have had to split it between yourselves. Congratulations Fluffy!

by Anonypishi (not verified) on Mon Dec 01, 2008 10:22 AM PSTFrom what you are saying, millions of women around the world including our mothers and grandmothers are prostitutes.
It is time to round them up...
by Dr. Abol Hassan Danesh, Sociologist (not verified) on Mon Dec 01, 2008 10:09 AM PSTAnd sending them to cooprative rice farm units with stock option available for public purchase.
It is predicted by the end of year of 2020 the number of people who suffer from the malnutrition and death related illnesses besides aids will be doubled if not tripled...
Don't get me wrong I am still the friends of prostitutes for whether you want it or not: It is the oldest profession...
"let them grow --Busmati-- and --Doam seeyah-- rice!" I love them both and way delicious and they even pop in growth from their original size during the cooking as large as cotton cloud pop corn...
Fluffy!
you are the one "pushing" and encouraging it.
by kouroshS (not verified) on Mon Dec 01, 2008 09:40 AM PSTMarge.
Perhaps it has not ever crossed your mind that the respect from you and others for these women is the main driving factor that encourages them to join the ranks Not the so-called demand and push by men. I know that there are prostitution rings, but This issue would not have existed at all if women would take charge and fight to eradicate it and not try to sound ultra liberal and say that you have respect for them doing this.
Even if you marry someone solely for their money you still are making a committment to him, but giving one's body in one night and for a price to a total stranger comes with no obligations and absolutely no strings attachted, It is done for one purpose and one purpose only.
How could you not know that??!!
All humans are prostitutes
by Anonymouss (not verified) on Mon Dec 01, 2008 08:50 AM PSTAll humans are prostitutes with different prices. The majority of people may not do it for a $100 but when offered $1000000 they will consider it and those who say never, have never been offered or already have the $100000.
The line between marriage and prostitution is blurred
by I Have a Crush on Alex Trebek on Mon Dec 01, 2008 07:19 AM PSTSometimes I have more respect for women who become prostitutes than those who simply marry for money and end up in miserable disgusting marriages with mentally unstable kids. Prostitution wouldn't exist if men weren't consumers and pushers in this trade.
What is the difference in marrying someone for money and prostitution? I think prostitution is more honest!
The entire place should be razed by a huge razzia
by Toofantheoncesogreat (not verified) on Mon Dec 01, 2008 06:29 AM PSTthe slaves and girls should be freed, and those emirs, sheiks and cleptocrat wackjobs need to be hanged by the nearest pole.
The sad part is, Iranian women that go down there, sometimes also go willingly as escourts because they cant find work back home..
Oh My
