This Persian of the day title is misleading

by John Carpenter III (not verified) on

I thought a persian leopard was an Iranian female model or Iranian porn star. The title for such Iranian of the day should specify persian leopard-zoo animal.
As a real Iranian born in the USA I make the above reccomendation.

Yes, it does

by Jahanshah Javid on

American wife,
Iranian government does have an environmental protection agency. In recent years big efforts have been made to locate and protect these cats. This NGO in particular has been very active: Persian Leopard Conservation Society: persianleopardcs.org

beautiful specimen!

Party Girl... does Iran have many animal protection agencies in place?  I'm not a rabid animal rights activist but I believe that it's crucial to have some protection in place for those incredibly beautiful animals that ARE in danger of extinction.

Majestic

by Party Girl on

What a majestic animal, indeed!  When Iranian forests were destroyed and flattened, no one worried about the trees, the animals that lived in those forests, and the ecosystem they jointly supported.  Many species native to Iran are now extinct, unfortunately, and they will never be seen again.  Though I don't like animals in captivity, I am glad some of these rare species are cared for somewhere where greed and ignorance won't completely wipe them off the face of the planet.
