It was Shah's fault

by jimzbund on

That idiot shah was buddying up with akhunds and believed that Imam Reza is protecting him .  he had to finish what his great father had started but was a pussy . When Ali Dashti was imprisoned by IRI he said" This revolution would not have happened if Shah had allowed these books ( 23 years and else) to be published.

You are absolutely right. Believing that Americans want to bomb Iran in current situation is as believable as fairy tales! Americans gave Islamic regime the blue print for making bomb to make sure they make the bomb so they can sell billions of dollars of their junk conventional weapons to Kuwait, UAE and Saudis! They can sell oil at any price they want as they will have to buy the junks at higher price too!

If America is to get rid of Islamic regime's threat over Persian Gulf states then how the hell they sell those junks to those Arabs? Those three countries (Saudi, Kuwait and UAE) bought about $70 billions of those junks between 1990 to 1994 and they bought about another $40 billion just in year 2007 after all the previous junks were useless in war against Saddam. Use of cliche to dismiss any valid argument in the name of conspiracy theory by some pseudo intellectuals is nothing new. it is a habit of those who have no valid argument and can not bring any logical explaination about the subject of discussion.

To Curious....

by Reza-San Diego (not verified) on

Thank you for your compliment on "Analysis" & your Sarcasm on "Chelo Kabob"...

In regards to your "And why they now want to bomb the same country that they occupied so successfully?" comment,If you still fall for that propaganda, well good luck with your search in the world of deception on the global media.... If you still believe in that!!!

FYI, Taliban were supported to fight against communist Sovites & win... So in reality, Talibans were installed by the CIA and etc.

Twenty some years later the same people (Taliban) were bombed and overthrown ... Same goes for Saddam & Iraq.... Did you forget about all that already? The Big power's foreign policies are subject to change at any moment based on their own short & long term interests in the region... And we know why right? Yes Hamvatan, You guessed it right!!! IT'S OIL....

Iran was attacked, captured & occupied in the Islamic fashion by those who planned, financed, supported, transported by the Brits, sheltered by French, given BBC and other microphones, distributed massive Pamphlet and tapes to uneducated public inside IRAN in 6 months, imported in short wave radios as a new trend, shipped & installed Thousands of New Khaki Toyota Land Cruisers never seen before in Iran in less than few WEEKS and occupied with 4 PLO/ lebanese trained Hezbollah militia inside , Created hundreds of new Revolutionary songs in less than few weeks so when they got in power in 22 Bahman, the Caputred National Radio and Television was already playing songs and videos with Red Tulips like: Iran, iran, iran, Ragbaareh Mosalsalhaa... Man, The Organizers (Big powers), They were so fricking organized........ 1978/1979 IRAN and even today never had the Capacity & Capability to come up with so many disciplined planned executed so well on all fronts... If we had all these on our own, with so much Organization & Management, we could have taken over the globe... It was not an Iranian JOB, uneducated Iranians fell for this ENORMOUS SCAM and payed for it, are still paying for it & worst of all, generations after us continue to pay dearly for our OWN sheer IGNORANCE...

Finally, every Iranian must ask this ONE question from him/herself! Who (which countries) have benefited from our miseary in the past 29 years???
Conspiracy Theory? What do you think? Chelo Kabob, Right? :-) God Bless Hamvatan, What do I know? I just like to SURF... :-)

The "Men" of the Pahlavi Era

by Immortal Guard (not verified) on

Many of these so-called "Men" which I'd rather call "Pussies" knew well before (1 to 2 years before) the first riots were ignited that Shah's regime would fall and that immediately afterwards the war with Iraq would start and had planned their exit from Iran before and stashed their money away in US and Europe.

One would wonder from whom and how they had got this inside information.

Dara...

by Setiz (not verified) on

If you want to just rant, then that is fine. But if you want to be objective, all that you have said boil with massive exaggerations, a carbon copy of what khomeini was saying pre-revolution. The time has changed, we are 30 years into falling for the lies and deceits, but you seem to have still frozen in 1979 and have not kept pace with the new information available. I will not point to the so many flaws in your comment since almost all have been mentioned so many times on similar threads in this site.

Everything that you have said is full of flaws and incorrect information. This is not to say that shah was perfect. Indeed shah and the ruling class were not perfect at all; BUT that is not what the revolutionaries were complaining about. A vast vast majority of revolutionaries did not give a damn about iran or iranians, rather they were solely after wealth and power and implementation of their ideology.

At least shah left people alone as long as they did not openly and actively opposed him; and those who opposed him, some 300 something of them (sadly) ended up dead for the entire regime of the shah (according to savak investigator emad baghi, himself a revolutionary), the equivalent of what khomeini executed in a single day in evin. The rest who survived imprisonment of the shah, likes of rafsanjani and khamenei, or kianouri and rajavi, ended up being among the nastiest characters in the history of iran.

Compare this to IRI, who considers every helpless iranian woman or girl so stupid and retarded that cannot even decide for herself what to wear or how far her hejab should extend. My uncle, a middle-age man, was arrested on the street for nothing but having shirt on with short sleeves in the middle of summer, and his arms were painted as punishment, courtesy of the ingenuity of islamic republic of the 80's in controlling every and each aspect of the lives of the people while ignoring the fundamental issues of the country and spending energy and wealth on international affairs that are none of any desperate iranian's business.

Unfortunately in a country like iran we have always had a very limited number of choices (sorry but Voltaire is not available for running iran to include him in the comparison as well). Even when people had a third choice, the government of bakhtiar, they went for the worst of the worse. That is what they were asking for, that is what they got.

Nobody regretted the revolution and fall of shah's regime had it been replaced with a more progressive regime. But that is not what happened in 1979. Few intellectuals of northern tehran aside, the rest, including a majority of educated university students, lined up behind a cooked up cleric to bring back laws of 1400 years ago with no respect for human dignity and self-determination of any individual. The result could be seen from the early days of the revolution in so many ways, but people chose to ignore those devastating signs of the incoming Tsunami.

You do not lose your shirt in the middle of winter with the hope that a charlatan maybe will give you a warm jacket later, a jacket that you have never seen or heard about its make. That is what we did, we lost our short and never received the promised warm jacket. We ended up being naked in the middle of iranian winter shivering for the past 30 years. Some of the lucky ones of us, like you and me, could get away and keep cheering the exodus of the shah in the comfort of our western lives, while others had to remain inside and long for the good old day of shah's regime.

Boys & Girls, What Do We Learn From Today's Wise Remarks?

by Dara Shadru on

Down with turban-wearing misogynistic medieval dictatorts! Long live the "good" old tie- and suit-wearing dictators!

The same well-groomed and cologne-wearing dictators who put hundreds of thousands of various segments of our society including secular college students, women and educators in Evin's hell holes and fried their delicate bodies in coffin-shaped ovens well-known as "Apollo".

The same cowards who put their gestapo agents in ambulences and sent them into the heart of the massive crowds and machine-gunned defenseless people in Tehran's Meydane Jaleh while people were opening the way assuming that their wounded were getting medical assitance. The same cowards who massacred the rioting people of Esfahan by aerial bombings.

At least these dictators wore acceptable attire and did not "embarass" us in the world scene. The same "fashion buff" torturers who took their dissected victims body parts (eyes, limbs, etc.) to their private homes and other SAVAK secret homes and kept them in solutions for their private entertainment.

When people stormed those houses of horror, they let the world see what was going on behind the closed doors of His Majesty's "island of stability".

If you want to get out of the present deep hole we live in right now, and fall into the good old more sophisticated hole fully supported by major world powers, let's give life to the disgraced monarchists once again.

If you miss those "glorious" days when people's lips were sewed for speaking out, journalists such as Karim Pour Shirazi was burned alive by His Majesty's beloved twin sister (for writing about her corruptions), lets rise up and rally behind the blood-sucking monarchists once more. When the new puppet dictator comes to power, you need to zip your lips for "stability" purposes for another generation if you don't want to be the agents of the good old "black" and "red" reaction and disappear on the street. (At the beginning, the majority of the dissidents will probably be labelled as the agents of the newly deposed "black" reaction.) Our model could be Egypt, where the U.S. short-lived "democratization" plans did not succeed in 2006 and were replaced by iron-fisted more urgently needed stability plans in 2007.

This is the easy way. Struggling for the establishment of a democratically elected regime that does not auction our national teasures to world multi-national conglomerates is the hard way not suitable and not recommended for those nail-manicured fashion buffs.

Downfall of Shah by shipish!

by Anonymoush (not verified) on

If I'm not mistaken, Darioush Homayoun is the dude who wrote an article in one of newspapers in Iran that sparked the revolts and caused the downfall of the Shah. So, according to some ingenious logic posted here, he must have acted in favor of the "massive invasion" of Iran by the west.

To the Ladies who got excited by this guy's appearance: he is really a bad guy! He helped the greasy shipishoos come to power. Sorry!

Revolution my a...!

by Kamangir on

Mr.Homayoun said it as it was:

Ashoobgaran va Kahrabkarane faribkhordeh.  Look at Iran now. Look at the large number of Iranian girls that end up in UAE, look at the uneployment, drug adicts, international image, brain drain, milliones living abroad and million others trying to leave.

How, tell me, how on earth do you call this a 'revolution'.  The BCC said that and they keep repeating it. Revolution my a....!

Did you get free gas and oil? what about meat and fruits (are your children suffering from lack of vitamins and proteins because you cannot afford buying them meat and fresh fruits?  Compare the character and the speech of Mr. Homayoun with your jackass ahmadinejad, rafsanjani... are these the leaders of your country?

We were duped!

by Setiz (not verified) on

We were duped by a 7th century mulla, educated on qom and groomed in najaf, to ruin iran.

Let those who marched after this mulla screaming that "... rahbar faghat rouholla" enjoy the fruits of what they planted 30 years ago when they placed their ideology, let it be islam or communism or any mix of them, in front of their country and their nation.

I am glad that I am not one of those who have to carry the heavy load of responsibility and shame for the past 30 years. The responsibility of the death of some half-a-million iranians, the daily toture of so many in prisons and on the streets of iran in the name of islam, and the shame of my sacred country with 7000 years of written history, the birthplace of ferdowsi, sadi, and hafez, bringing shame on all of us on a daily basis in both public and private, as a backward third-world rogue nation.

Maybe shah was bad or maybe he was not good enough, but at least he was iran- and iranian-centered and compared to what those whom the people wanted to hand in the country to, he was just too good and too much of a saint and too much of a gentleman. We simply did not deserve any better when we asked for the gangsters, that we have come to know so closely in the past 30 years and to pay for with the blood and money of our nationals and our nation so dearly, to replace the shah.

What I meant by the whole world back then, were the main powers at the time which they still are by the way.... The rest of the poor world didn't even know where Iran was...

As far as, "And why they now want to bomb the same country that they occupied so successfully?"

Well, First of all, if you fall for that B.S!, Good Luck with your search in the world of politics Hamvatan... Secondly, Even if that was true, they simply don't have any of their own citizens on the ground in Iran and they can turn at any given time while they evacuate few of their own diplomats...Furthermore, didn't they bomb Taliban after supporting them to kick the Soviets out & installed them as a new Government in the 80s till just few years ago? How about Saddam & Iraq? Did you miss that too???!!!

Apparently you don't do your research properly & YOUR LOGIC is based on WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN FEEDING YOU so far in the media... Don't feel too bad though, Majority of the people in IRAN & around the world have been Brain-washed & deprived of the TRUTH for so long that they can even distinguish the difference between Right & Wrong, True or False, Honest or Dishonest...

And finally as for your "conspiracy theory developed after a nice pors of chelo-kabob" comment:

For you & people like you, the reason was Chelo Kabob honey... :-) Happy Now? :0)

By then (Summer of 1978), All the world was against Iran & True Iranians... Great Britain, France & The U.S. in particular, already made their plans for Iran's destruction & also made their deals with Ayatollah Khomeini, Ebrahim Yazdi, Sadegh Ghotbzadeh & other CIA,PLO, MI6, SIS, DST, DGSE & KGB agents, inside & outside our poor Motherland, IRAN...
Massive invasion was on its way...
The name Committee (Komiteh) was already chosen for new revolutionary forces trained by PLO! The new Toyota Land Cruisers, Pasdaran's new Dark Green Uniforms & AK-47s ( Kalashnikov's)were on the boats along Iran's southern coasts of Persian Gulf ready for delivery to the Mercenaries on the ground... Shah ordered the Imperial Armed Forces & his Top Generals NOT to kill Iranians (Direct order) even if they were attacked! Army bases on the ground one by one were captured by the Mercenaries who took advantage of that weakness by the TRUE IRANIAN FORCES... IRAN was Attacked & then Occupied ever since...
