It's interesting

It's interesting that all the art pieces created in contemporary Mideast by in large are Iranian. So was much of what is called Islamic art in museums all over the world.
Makes me wonder besides eating, sex and blowing things up is there anything out there that Arabs are good at or capable of doing. one wonders....

I am disappointed!

I was expecting to see Iranian girls sold into sex slavery in the auction to the hight bidder. Those girls who can not afford their daily bread or afford to pay their rent or own their own house or have gotten addicted to drugs because of family or financial situation and had to leave Iran for Dubai.

I love the part where she says that some guys sculpture had sold for $2.8 Millon dollars, then it shows the artist and he is still working in his studio like a factory worker.  Ha ha ... Hey, with 2.8 Millon in the bank, you can retire already!! It's OK!.

But seriously, I had already seen this video and this is seriously beautiful art that deserves all the best.  Not only they are beautiful but they are also uniquely iranian and middle eastern. They've managed to keep a personality of their own.  I love seeing paintings using persian / arabic script.  The 2.8 millon dollar sculptures are very "Takht-e Jamshidi" as well.

It's long overdue, that our artists get the recognition they deserve. At the same time we need to also support the artists that are pushing the boundaries everyday who don't make it to Christie's.
