tekrar mokarrarat

I think her fifteen minutes of fame is over and all we hearing is tekrar mokarrat. "U.S should not help dictatorial regimes, etc,etc" well U.S just got rid of two dictatorial regime in Afghanistan and Iraq, so she should be happy about that right? I can't figure out if this woman is genuine or usefull idiot like the hollywood types we keep hearing about...

Ebadi vs Aung San Suu Kyi

Noble peace prize is the most politically motivated of awards in the world. A cursury look at the list of award winners is enough to tell you the story. Among the notable ones are names that you should recognize. From Martin Luther King Jr. to Henry Kissinger, from Menachim Begin to Lech Walesa, from Yasser Arafat to Nelson Mandela, and from Aung San Suu Kyi to Shirin Ebadi, all have had politcal functions of one sort or another. The case of last two awardees, however, makes for an interesting comparison:

The citation for Suu Kyi reads:
"for her non-violent struggle for democracy and human rights" - note the emphasis on "non-violent struggle." Ebadi's citation is slightly but purposefully different:
"for her efforts for democracy and human rights. She has focused especially on the struggle for the rights of women and children." - note "efforts for democracy ... "

Two women, nearly the same age, both living under despotic regimes and both working for restoration of democracy and human rights. One, Suu Kyi, is noted for her non-violent opposition to the despotic regime and has suffred six years of imprisonment, hardship, still under house arrest and deprived on contact with the outside world, whereas the other, Ebadi, is only noted for her efforts, was only temporarily detained for six weeks, has collaborated intimately with the law makers of the regime in order to modernize or democratize their laws and make them more appealing to the Western democracies, was welcomed by the President of the regime (Khatami) and reportedly dedicated her award to him, and is allowed to travel around the word, deliver speeches and give interviews and return home without a single nuisance from the authorities?

Now can you tell me if Ebadi is a dissident ? If so a dissident to the US governement or to the Islamic government? Or perhaps the Islamic regime under which Mrs Ebadi is living, is not half as despotic as the regime ruling Myanmar (Burma)? Surely these two women can't both be oppsing two dictatorships and be regarded as dissidents?

She truely is helping that half of the population of humanity(women)have participatory role is the decision making and the affairs of the world and be considered equal to men. I wish her all the best.

Her speech is politically correct. In part 2, she repeatedly said that IRI is not a democratic regime and so on.

نمناک به خواب رفتم و در اشک خود غرق شدم

چند وقت قبل خاطره ای از عموی خودم شنیدم گفتم شاید بد نباشه اونو تو سایت قرار بدم .همه چیزه این خاطره واقعیه به جز اسامی. چون اصلا عموم اسمهای اصلی رو به من نگفت (فقط اسم لیلا واقعیه).عموی من الان سرهنگ سپاه پاسداران جمهوری اسلامیه و همسرش فوت شده، زمان جنگ ایران و عراق در زندان عادل شیراز خدمت میکرد. فکر میکنم اگه این خاطره رو از زبان خود عموم بنویسم بهتره…
فردا روزی بود که قرار بود من به همراه چندتا از بچه ها به جبهه اعزام بشیم. با اینکه خیلی دوست داشتم جنگ رو از نزدیک احساس کنم اما خیلی نگران بودم. شاید به خاطر این بود که از مرگ میترسیدم. اتفاقا از بین زندانی ها چندتا خانم بودن که قرار بود فردا صبح اعدام بشن. جرم اکثرشون سیاسی بود و بعضی هاشون هم مجرد بودن (همینطور که میدونین اعدام خانم های مجرد طبق قوانین جمهوری اسلامی ایران ممنوعه) شب بعد از شام و خوندن دست جمعی دعای کمیل، رئیس زندان همه بچه ها رو صدا کرد و گفت: برای برادرانی که فردا به سلامتی عازم جبهه هستند خبر خوبی دارم. امشب شبی هست که میتونن از بین زنان مجردی که قراره فردا اعدام بشن اونی رو که مایل هستن انتخاب کنن و حاج آقا رضایی هم تشریف آوردن تا هر زنی رو که خواستن امشب موقتا به عقد برادرا دربیارن و در واقع امشب زحمت خطبه عقد با حاج آقاست… حالا برای سلامتی امام و اسلام صلوات جمیع خطب کن و…برای یک لحظه هراس عجیبی تمام تنم رو فرا گرفت. اصلا فکر نمیکردم شبی که قرار بود شب اعزامم به جبهه باشه شب عروسی هم باشه. به سمت سالنی رفتیم که دختران زندانی اونجا به صف ایستاده بودند. جالب اینکه بعضی بچه ها که همراه من بودند مجرد نبودند اما حاضر بودند که این کار رو انجام بدند. اما برخی ها با اینکه مجرد هم بودند نیامده بودند. با دیدن دخترها یک لحظه می خواستم برگردم. اما سهیل که یکی از دوستام بود و سه چهار سالی سنش از من بیشتر بود گفت کجا میری مجید. وبا خنده ادامه داد نکنه میخوای ناکام از دنیا بری؟!از این شوخیش اصلا خوشم نیومد اما هرچی بود وسوسه شدم که بمونم. در نهایت هر کدوم از بچه ها دختری رو انتخاب کرد و حاج آقا رضایی که روحانی زندان بود یکی یکی دخترا رو به عقد چند ساعته بچه ها در می آورد. یادمه بعضی از دخترا راضی به این کار نبودن اما چاره ای نبود. محال بود رئیس زندان اجازه بده دختری باکره اعدام بشه. تقریبا برای هر کدوم از ما یک دختر میرسید. نوبت من شد. دختری که انتخاب کرده بودم چهره معصومی داشت. اسمش لیلا بود. حاج آقا رضایی صیغه عقد رو خوند و منو لیلا حالا زن و شوهر بودیم. از لیلا پرسیدم به چه جرمی به اعدام محکوم شده؟ گفت یک روز به همراه دوستش در یکی از جلسات حزب توده شرکت کرده و از بخت بد همون شب مامورها ریختن تو خونه و همشون رو گرفتن. می گفت که برای اولین بار بوده که تو جلسات سیاسی شرکت میکرده و فکر نمیکرده که روزی همچین اتفاقی براش بیفته. ازم خواست که کاری براش بکنم. اما من فقط یک مامور بودم . چه کاری میتونستم بکنم. کاری براش از دستم ساخته نبود. با خودم فکر میکردم لازمه امثال لیلا قربانی بشن تا اسلام پایدار بمونه. بهترین و سخت ترین شب زندگیم همون شبی بود که تو زندان با لیلا بودم. اون شب به سرعت گذشت . صبح لیلا رو بوسیدم و ازش خداحافظی کردم. گفتم حلالم کن شاید شهید بشم. لیلا سرشو پایین انداخت و هیچی نگفت. چند دقیقه بعد از پنجره میدیدمش که اونو همراه بقیه زنها به سمت اعدام میبرن. لیلا اولین دختری بود که باهش بودم. بخاطر همینم برام خیلی سخت بود. اون روز عازم جبهه شدم. چند وقت بعد از بعضی بچه ها که تو زندان بودند شنیدم که وقتی پدر و مادر لیلا برای تحویل گرفتن جنازه اش اومده بودن 1300 تومن از طرف دولت بهشون میدادن و میگفتن دخترتون دیشب عروس شده اینهم … مهریه اش

Interesting, but No Mention of ....

She has interesting points with respect to the history of US role in the ME and particularly women's role an dimpact. Interestingly, while mentioning the entire ME histry in passing and the reasons for problems, she totally side steps the biggest elephant in the room! That is, the Zio-Nazi crimes and the suffering of palestinian women and whe there is solidarity among all ME women to see to it that the socalled "democracy" projects do not succeed.
