I would like to nominate Professor M. Hashem Pesaran FBA as my Iranian of the day. He is a well-knwon economist and econometrician. Specially, he is know as a leading scholar in panel-data analysis. He and his brother have develpoed an econometrics package called MICROFIT. He is cuurently a professor at cabridge University, UK.>>>

You are a moron since the only thing you know about the guy is that he could not make house payments and you are passing judgements on him. In your feeble opinion he is not a good economist since he could not finance a house in L.A. And worst of all you don't even know if it was him or his brother!

Actually he or his brother should be praised for opting to go back to U.K. and not live amongst morons like you in the Valley.

Thanks for sharing this information with us.

Boy he has aged a lot. I met him and his brother in 1996.

One of them came to UCLA around the same time (96-97) for visiting faculty and purchased a house around UCLA. Could not make the payments and the banking lender took it over. He decided to go back to London after losing his house.

Sometimes it is easy to write econometric models for others, but it did not work for them.

Anyway, I wish them well.
