However the implied rosy picture of the previous regime is not realistic. The growth of the population should be taken into account. And don't forget that the infamous sister of Shah, the promiscuous Ashraf was Iran's mafia head. She lost a friend in a mafia hit some short time before the Great Revolution. So don't get too excited neither about that period, nor these (.......) ones!

I remember meeting a pusher/junkie who was hopeful for a new clean lifestyle and happy to be apprehended in early days after the Shah had fled. What a shame. It's worthy to be fixed (no pun intended) from within, by means of Reforms.

'Of' Drug Addicts in Tehran

What an excellent news item Pendar Jan...As you can see I'm writing in the same Smart Alec Mr-Know-It-All fragmented sentences as you.....I mean it.....What a sight for sore eyes to see so much drug addicts on the streets of Tehran....Just look....what your revolution drove them too....Drug dependency in Iran is on the record high...Jobless...despondency...Never had so many drug addicts during the time of the Shah....Infact you never had it so good...one starts a revolution 30 years ago....and hasn't been back.....depressing......Great Revolution goes tits up...Oh,well........................................................................................................
