Sarah Shourd, Shane Bauer and Joshua Fattal would make no one's list of prime suspects as agents of US imperialism. The three Americans – detained by Iranian security services in July 2009 on espionage charges, now all released and reunited with their families – have a clear and very real commitment to opposing US foreign policy in the Middle East, asshown by their journalism.

Even if the USA bends over backwards and pays in Iran in gold bullions to say sorry for its involvement for the 1953 coup some fool of a journalist will try to relativise acts of hostage and terror to events fifty years ago. This regime takes hostages, beats and murders regardless of whether its victims are American or Iranian. If the 1953 coup is the reason for hostage taking of innocent Americans then which event or catalyst explains the hundreds of thousands of Iranians murdered by this despicable regime? Which regime mass murders its people to the extent of the Islamic Republic?

The only reason the Islamic Republic takes hostages is because it is an unrepentant terrorist entity. It must be destroyed. Please don't give this regime reasons or cause for its vicious acts of terror.

Death to the Islamic Republic. Condemn it. Fight it. Destroy it.
