Deputy PM says that within 3 years, Teheran will be able to create nuclear bomb; says Egypt, Jordan fear West Bank take over by Hamas; does not believe large-scale conflict will erupt in Gaza.

Iran does not have the capability to create a nuclear weapon at this point due to technological difficulties it has recently been facing, Deputy Prime Minister Moshe Ya'alon told Israel Radio Wednesday morning.

Ya'alon estimated that Teheran will have the capability to create a nuclear bomb within the next three years.

In addition, Ya'alon mentioned that Jordan and Egypt, along with Israel, fears a Hamas takeover in the West Bank.

According to the Minister of Strategic Affairs, the US and Europe are straying away from the idea of unilaterally establishing a Palestinian state.

Addressing the recent escalation in violence along the Gaza Strip, Ya'alon said that he does not think a large-scale conflict will erupt in the region since Hamas has no interest in deteriorating their security.

Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilna'i on Monday strongly criticized Hamas' control in Gaza and said the IDF understands the problem in the area and is dealing with the problem very well.

Vilna'i said that next week he will put forward a proposal to the Prime Minister's Office requesting an additional budget of NIS 25 million to complete public defense projects near Gaza.
