Iran developing long-range radar, upgraded missile defense

(CNN) -- Iran's military is working to exponentially boost the range and numbers of its radar systems as part of a series of stepped-up defense measures, state-run media reports.

Brig. Gen. Ahmad Miqani, commander of the Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base, said Sunday that Iran is working on a radar system to detect low-altitude objects as far as 3,000 km (1,864 miles) away, according to Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency. Previously, the maximum range for Iranian radar was 400 km (250 miles), he said.

"Today, we are building all types of active or passive radar systems, with any kind of range and in any frequency," Miqani said, according to Fars.

A regime so terrrified of an outside attack is resorting to claims it cannot back.  What sir defenses????? This regime and its even weaker IRGC will collapse inside of a week once the West decides to attack its assets.  The danger will come from leaving the 200 K or so basij to continue to cause havoc.  So any surgical attacks must be combined with efforts to wipe the country clean of these terrorists who would otherwise cause havoc on the interest of the West.  Getting rid of these people is not a difficult task at all.  They are the same brainwashed souls who will keep vigil inside these same military bases to protect them.  We just have to make sure we take them out as we target these bases.
