Iranian Opposition Leaders Call Off Protest

The Iranian opposition leaders Mir Hussein Moussavi and Mehdi Karroubi issued a joint statement on Thursday calling off plans for protests on Saturday, the anniversary of the disputed presidential election that they claim was rigged.

While the two men were the reformist candidates in the 2009 election and insist that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was not the rightful winner of the contest, they often seemed not to be in control of many of last year’s protests, so some opposition supporters may still take to the streets on June 12.

Here is a translation, prepared for The New York Times, of the complete statement published on Thursday on Saham News, an opposition Web site:

A sound patriotic move by the opposition. But those armchair violence instigators, shall spend the whole year in depression with hopes of next year!

But I admire the green leaders with their vision to reconize that nw is not the time for internal divisions but united against our foreign adversaries that are closig in to harm Iran. That is just the way true Persians have been historically .

realzie that time is of the essence here.  If the Iranians themselves
will not be able to topple this regime, then outside democratic forces
are needed to do the job.  Hence strategic bombardment of regime and
military assets would ensure the downfall of this regime.

 

That will be the wish you will take to grave. But don't worry, you are not the only one seeing the grave with such a wish. You will take many (including some bendover Iranian want-a-bes here) with you.

Patriotic?

The enemy of Iran is in fact the regime itself. Mossavi and Karubi, are still an extension of the regime. They are just trying to buy more time to add life to the regime,that's all, They don't care about the people, never did, never will. They are followers of Emam (who ever that is).
