Young Prisoner Hamed Rouhinejad Denied Medical Care for Multiple Sclerosis

Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA)- Prison officials are doing little to treat Hamed Rouhinejad, a multiple sclerosis (MS) patient sentenced to ten years in prison for associating with the monarchist group Anjoman Padeshahi Iran. He was previously sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

According to HRANA reporters, Hamed Rouhinejad is currently detained in ward 7 of Evin prison.  Since Rouhinejad has the disease MS, he is not able to withstand prison pressures and requires medical treatment outside the prison. The coroner’s office previously confirmed Hamed Rouhinejad’s weakening condition and the fact that he will not be able to withstand prison conditions. The judiciary has ignored the coroner’s comments and any other statement regarding Hamed Rouhinejad.
