Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the late leader of Iran's 1979 Revolution Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, lashed out against Iran's National Broadcasting Organization, Seda-va-Sima for the "distorted" portrayal of his grandfather.

In preparation for the anticipated protests on February 11, the anniversary of the 1979 Revolution, Iranian media is apparently once more engaged in antagonizing public perception of protesters.

In a letter to Ezatollah Zarghami, head of Seda-va-Sima, Hassan Khomeini accuses the network of trying to "distort" the character of the founder of the Islamic Republic in their documentary, titled "Prominent."

The documentary which has been airing five times a day from different TV channels on the occasion of the Revolution's anniversary focuses on comments given by the late leader of the country regarding staging demonstrations without official permits.

Mammad Reza Pahlavi really should have executed Khomeini in 1963. According to different accounts I've read, both Hassan Pakravan and Ayatollah Shariatmadari prevailed on the Shah to exile that turd rather than execute him. Pakravan was executed after the Revolution, and Shariatmadari was humiliated and placed under virtual house arrest.

Grandson Confused

no, that's the real khomeini !  he was an autocratic dictator and like most had no tolerance for anyone protesting his rule. 1986 mehdi hashemi held a demonstration in streets of tehran questioning the u.s./israel arms deal (iran contra affair).  what happened ?? everyone involved got a short term prison sentence and mehdi hashemi executed.  i mean i can cite so many examples montazeri fallout with khomeini and subsequent death threats, democractic iranians silenced, 1983 supporters of iraq-iran peace treaty/end to the war were disbanded and silenced etc etc.   To khomeini protests were an anathema to his rulership.   --his grandson has delusional ideas of Grandpa Khomeini
