مهمان من در برنامه 'به عبارت دیگر' می توانست امروز رییس کشور بزرگی باشد با بیش از دو هزار و پانصد سال سابقه نظام پادشاهی، می توانست کاخ نشینی باشد با جلال و جبروتی که خاص شاهان است ولی ده ها سال است که رشته پادشاهی در خاندان او از هم گسسته و خود او در تبعید به سر می برد.

نظر او در باره آنچه در کشورش می گذرد چیست؟ چه کسی را مسبب آنچه بر سر خاندانش آمده می داند؟ و آینده خودش را چگونه می بیند؟

در مورد این پرسش ها و پرسش های دیگر با شاهزاده رضا پهلوی، فرزند شاه سابق ایران گفت و گو کرده ام:

یکی از مشاوران محمود احمدی نژاد در دوره اول ریاست جمهوری اش گفته بود که شما می توانید به ایران برگردید و دولت ایران موظف است که به شما اجازه ورود به کشور را بدهد. البته تجربه نشان داد که این حرف خیلی خوش بینانه بود نه تنها در مورد شما بلکه در مورد دیگران هم، اما به هر حال خود شما چقدر خوش بین هستید که در آینده ای نه چندان دور بتوان... >>>

I think his majesty is wrong on this subject.

I don’t believe Iranian people are in the level that they could choose the system they like to have for the government.

They show it in the past that they are incapable of choosing the right regime.

In his own words, Raza Pahlavi does confess to his father's gradual diversion from principals of the 1906 constitution into an absolute monarchy being the prime reason leading to our 1979 revolution.  This is an over-simplification.  What he fails to mention are other significant factors. To name a few....What about over indulgence in material things and/or massive corruption committed by none other than his own relatives?  What about a strangulating political environment where parents would constantly remind their children not to say ANYTHING against the shah in public, fearing the dreaded SAVAK.  What about individuals imprisoned, burned with hot wire, had their finger nails pulled, raped, beaten, humiliated and tortured just because they read and/or carried books deemed anti shah/ monarchy?  What about ridiculous, knee jerk economic policies/ decisions leading to hyper-inflation, unemployment, and other social ills?  The list is simply too long and beyond the scope of this web site.  Let''s just say it will serve Mr. Pahlavi well if he broadens his scope a bit.
