TEHRAN — Iran has 3,672 cases of swine flu, Health Minister Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi said on Wednesday.
"Based on recent statistics, 3,672 people have now been diagnosed with the illness," she was quoted by state news agency IRNA as saying.
She put the death toll from A(H1N1) virus at 140, up sharply from 100 on November 18.
The first Iranian fatality was a 36-year-old woman drug addict who died on August 26.
Iran has placed restrictions on Muslims travelling to Mecca in Saudi Arabia for this week's annual hajj pilgrimage.
