Iranian taekwondo competitor wins gold in World Championships

COPENHAGEN, Oct. 17 (MNA) -- Mohammad Baqeri-Motamed claimed a gold medal in the WTF World Taekwondo Championships in Copenhagen on Friday night. The Iranian taekwondoka beat Idulio Islas at the Ballerup Super Arena. The -68 kg Iranian athlete showed his supremacy by beating his Mexican rival 4-2 in the final match.

“I was here to win the gold. I am so happy one of my dreams has come true. I have three goals in my sports life. To win the World Championships gold was the first. I want to win the 2010 Asian Games and the 2012 Olympic Games gold medals as well,” said Baqeri-Motamed.

Good for him! It is amazing that Iranians are so good at a sport which was invented by Koreans. I hope he will win the gold medal in 2012 Games.
