At a recent press
conference in Tehran, fraudulently elected president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad claimed
that customary approaches used by economists to determine the poverty line are a
"hoax" and cannot be used as a measure to prove that there is poverty in Iran.
Existing facts, however, contradict Ahmadinejad's statement.

Biggest shame of IRI (to Kadivar)
by kharmagas on Thu Oct 15, 2009 08:09 AM PDTLetting poverty and class gap reach the current level is the biggest shame of IRI and I saw it first hand last time I was in Iran. All factions of IRI are responsible for this. Shah with all his mistakes left Iran with a large middle class but Rafsnjanis, Khamenehis, Karroubies ..., pushed many from the middle to lower class.
BTW, Kadivar, I am surprised that you posted this news instead of posting the news about some prince farting somewhere. Maybe even you are not a hopeless case after all.
