Amid suggestions to defeated presidential candidate Mir-Hossein Mousavi to establish a political party, an influential Principlist figure steps up to endorse the idea.

A senior member of the Islamic Coalition Party and leading Principlist figure, Habibollah Asgaroladi describes the move as a 'favorable' one, saying, "Establishing a party to voice one's ideas and political perceptions is a wise move."

"To clarify political actions and to show respect for the collective intellect, politicians need to come together in a political formation,” Asgaroladi added.

Life of the party

'Collective intellect'??? Is IRI becoming the Borg?  Or is this just one more of countless lousy translations from IRI press? And if so could someone please tell me how far afield it is from the original Persian? These blunders always make my day. Also, he did not say anything about momentum. I think Press TV wants this momentum.

Anyway.

I found the item first in Kodoom. All they had was this link to Press TV.  I can't find any information anywhere about where he said it.  I find this strange. But typical of Presss TV. Anyway. In googling for this information, for those in the dark like me, I found this wiki entry on him. He:

is an Iranian politician and secretary-general of the Islamic Coalition Party, an influential conservative political party in Iran. He is also a member of Iran's Expediency Council. He spent many years at the forefront of the Iranian cabinet, both as Secretary of State for Social Security and as the Head of the Iranian Secret Service and Homeland Security Agency. He is in charge of Imam Khomeini's Committee. He was born in a Damavandi Jewish family. His family converted to Islam during Reza Shah's time. Some unofficial reports include him amongst the wealthiest individuals in Iran.[1]

Maybe his association with the Secret Service puts 'intelligence' foremost in his mind. In any case, he has bucks.

II also happened upon the following entry which may be of interest to some people. It contains a list of many of the political parties in Iran (of course in English) with their orientation to some extent:

//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_parties_in_Iran

Wiki being wiki, some of the information is probably wrong or out of date.
