This guy, Hadi Ghaffari, himself has a very dark and negative past, said to have been the guy who murdered former Prime Minister Amir Abbas Hoveyda in jail. The speech shows the growing rift between the clergy over recent events.

PS to Irandokht : Yes he said random ;-) I think like "merci" the word "random" is becoming a part of Iranian vernacular. I have heard it from Iranians of all shape and form!

He took part in Rasht massacre against Fadaian Aksariat. And killed many of them in the Rasht.
In northern part of Iran.

There was a rumor that time that he carry his G3 rifle in his big Aba's pocket!

Who is Ghaffari and why is he important?

Ghaffari was the boldest critic of Shah regime. He knows no fear! He was arrested and tortured many times by Savak but came back more determined to topple the shah regime. It's hard if not impossible to top his revolutionary credntials. I have bad knews for Khamanei. If he messes with like of Ghaffari his days are numbered!
People like Ghaffari don't take no for answer. They have no fear of jail and torture as he says in his tape. You bet he has frinds in IRG and rest.

The speaker after him on tape obviously is head of Basij in western Iran. No wonder no one has dared arresting Karrobi.

Tic....tic...tic...do your it?!

It sure does sound like a huge gap between the mullahs and no matter who he was in the past that was very brave of him, do you know where this was?
