If you're an active user of Twitter or Facebook, and have a fair number of politically active friends, you may have noticed that many of them changed hue today. The first person I saw complete the metamorphosis was our own Donna Trussell (who you can follow on Twitter here). Slowly, throughout the day, many of my friends participated this Hulk-like transformation. No, it isn't some crazy environmental statement, it's a new Internet meme designed to show support for the protesters in Iran.

HOPE&CHANDE FOR ME BUT NOT FOR YOU
by peace45 on Fri Jun 19, 2009 06:52 AM PDTAmericans want HOPE & CHANGE for themselves but the polticians are too coward to come out and support HOPE & CHANGE for Iran.
intellectual dishonesty of this administration is beyond belief. they talk about respecting terrorist rights in guantanamo bay, but they can not come out and support people of Iran with firm conviction.

by BrandonSLC (not verified) on Fri Jun 19, 2009 12:44 AM PDTI'm an American but I have shown my solidarity with Iranian freedom fighters for the last 2 days be wearing green wristbands and displaying a green strip of cloth on my car antennae.
I have some very prominent trees in my front yard, I thought they would look good wrapped in green as well.
I'd be over there helping if I thought I could do it without ending up in an Iranian prison, or dead.
