Obama’s measured response could give protesters needed autonomy: Last year's presidential campaign presented voters with a choice between the combative, occasionally impulsive John McCain and the more coolly cerebral Barack Obama. That contrast was on display again Tuesday, with McCain blasting the Obama administration's cautious approach toward the unrest in Iran and the president stating that U.S. meddling could be counterproductive.
