Ahmadinejad is losing ground in parliament

For the first time in many years, Iranians will turn away from the geopolitics which have dominated discourse since the Islamic revolution in 1979 and focus instead on the state of their economy. Politics will be overshadowed by economic hardships which have arisen partly due to plummeting oil prices and the world banking crisis.
