The Arabs and Iran have been close neighbours for thousands of years and have a great deal in common. The advent of Islam has only strengthened these historical ties and bonds. As India’s former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee used to say, you can pick your friends but you cannot choose your neighbours. There is no reason to believe Arabs and Iran cannot sort out the nuclear question and other issues amiably without foreign intervention.

first let the arabs sort out the disputes between themselves, and then rest to recover their breath and then settle their differences with Iran.
And as a visitor to Oman, Bahrain, Dubai, Sharjah, Saudi and Egypt, I say: Arabs I met were: fine honest tolerant welcoming easy going fun loving polite normal busy punctual relaxed, and blew horns when driving. ,...., Overall I liked them a lot-- at the street level.
What processes flow in their halls of government, that is a mystery beyond me..

by Niloufar Parsi on Sun Dec 28, 2008 05:50 AM PSTI can't help smiling! it is not right, i know, but look we have an article about a need for iranian-arab friendship and most of the comments are about prostitutes in Dubai! like we have no prostitutes in iran and it was the arabs who invented the profession...
more seriously, we have to address this hatred toward arabs in iranian culture. the shah nurtured it, and the IRI has pushed it to the limit with its policies.
how serious is it though? what percentage of iranians would you say are like a few of our posters here? you know what: we should write a blog entry on the similarities between iranian and arab men!
that this article has come from the Khaleej-e Fars countries is no surprise. these guys have been reforming themselves and building their economies for decades now. they are serious business people and are keen to establish regional stability for their own sakes. it is a good time for a solid regional security pact and removing trade barriers.
they see the sense in showing iran the respect it deserves as a regional power, and are tired of foreign impositions. the people of our region are waking up.
i hope we can too. we have far too much in common with them to pretend that we cannot get on with them. it's just self-deception (and not just bigotry) to look down on our neighbours. and we consider ourselves to be a hospitable nation too...
i was in Kabul fairly recently. what surprised me the most was how nice they were toward iranians, though they don't like our politicians.
Peace!
those women who go to live
by Anonymous222 (not verified) on Sat Dec 27, 2008 10:04 PM PSTthose women who go to live south of persion gulf are religionless stupid and some are even educated but sick minded lousy and scum of society. if they want to go there for freedom let them go and wear no roosari . toosari is wrong but to go to live on arab land so you can remove your roosari has no logic and then then dauthers born there will wear no....
Irandokht, please! it is very obvious Mrx is disgusted w/IRI &
by gol-dust on Sat Dec 27, 2008 06:02 PM PSTWomen being shipped out to damn arab states under this regime! I don't know who this Mrx is, but as an iranian man i immediately understood what he was talking about, since I too am pissed off with what this regime is doing to our country, especially those women who are going to the arabs! We all should be ashame of ourseleves for allowing this to happen to our iranian sisters!
As the editorial goes, they can go to hell for comparing us with the zionist regime! Shame on them all! Long live Iran! Down w/IRI!

by MRX1 (not verified) on Sat Dec 27, 2008 05:00 PM PSTwell it appears that you have no sense of humor otherwise you would have underestood that I was mocking IRI.....

by IRANdokht on Sat Dec 27, 2008 03:50 PM PSTWhat a nasty hope to have for Iranian women!!! have you no shame?
How can you hope for more Iranian girls to be victims of such slavery? if you want to speak up against the current sex trafficking, you will find everyone on your side. But you didn't do that!
why do you have such hate for Iranians???
