No, absolutely not
by American Wife on Fri Oct 17, 2008 03:21 PM PDTHe would have "palined" his way out of it. (my new word for avoiding answering any questions). He would have gone straight to his BS rhetoric of how HE is going to make changes... HE is not going to raise taxes... HE is going to cut spending. Joe would be looking at him just like the millions of viewers watching his debates and rallies wondering "say what?".
You know something else... I was watching the clip and thinking to myself... oh shit, how is Obama going to get out of this one. I give him BIG cudo's.... BIG brass ones for answering the man directly. No, it wasn't the answer the guy wanted. Oh, let me take that back. It was EXACTLY what Joe wanted to hear. EXACTLY what McCluess wanted to hear. EXACTLY how they staged the whole thing. Obama looked him straight in the eye and said, "well, you know what, if you make over 250K, then yeah, you're going to pay a couple percent more".
Did you hear that people... he spoke the TRUTH, as unpleasant as it might have been. Get used to it... it's not something you've heard lately... certainly not the last eight years. And certainly not from McClueless and the Pitbull.
American Wife - a question
by Nazanin Ghasemian on Fri Oct 17, 2008 02:56 PM PDTDo you think that McCain would have had the patience to thoroughly answer "Joe's" question, as Barack did?
it was bogus from the start
by American Wife on Fri Oct 17, 2008 10:13 AM PDTwhether or not the McCluess campaign participated or not, this joe 6-pack was a set up. I read one article where everyone was bashing OBAMA for picking on him!!!! Obviously Republicans still wearing their blinders. He was never undecided... he had already voted in the primaries! He's not licensed nor was the owner of the FIRST company he worked for. He now works for someone else whose owner is licensed. Which is still immaterial to his status. He is not licensed himself. He never even completed an apprendice program. In short, this man has no more intention of buying a business than I do. He has no money (hence the back taxes he already owes), he has no credentials or licenses to run this company he had worked for and dreamed of owning one day. I wonder how long he actually HAD worked there. I would love to be a fly on the wall of McCain's office when he starts finally realizing how this too has blown up in his face. Could he look any greater the fool? No, unfortunately not...lol. And now the media is being blamed for bringing this poor guy to national attention and it might "get him in trouble"!!!!! Oh woe is me. It's just too much.
Not amusing since he's misleading others in his situation
by Nazanin Ghasemian on Thu Oct 16, 2008 05:22 PM PDTHis projected earnings of 270K did not include possible deductions, which small-business owners often take advantage of. Obama made it clear to him that he had another possible way of going below the 250K tax bracket through health care tax breaks and job incentive tax cuts.
I'm not surprised to hear why he's going on and on about taxes. He owes the state 1200 bucks in back taxes.
