- Democrat Barack Obama told voters Saturday he would push an aggressive economic agenda as president: cutting taxes for the middle class, raising taxes on the wealthy, pouring money into "green energy" and requiring employers to set up retirement saving plans for their workers.

Read My Lips

I hope these words won't come back to bite him in the ass later on, like the major PR catastrophe that was Bush Senior's Read My Lips: No More Taxes Fiasco.  Honestly, why do politicians always promise to cut taxes?  Not only that never happens, they end up raising them once in power.  Well, the answer is that it's because we are gullible enough to fall for it every time, I guess.  Reminds me of Charlie Brown falling on his ass every time he tries to kick the football, despite Lucy's promise that she won't budge this time :~}
