Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has denied taking bribes from a wealthy Jewish-American businessman, resisting calls for his resignation. Mr Olmert admitted Moshe Talansky gave donations for past election campaigns, but insisted at a news conference "I never took a penny for myself". He said he would only resign if prosecutors filed criminal charges.

My goodness, Israeli leaders in past few years can't seem to avoid trouble with the law. Things are not any better elsewhere. If there was an independent judiciary, tons of politicians would be prosecuted for corruption in Iran. To me it's just another sign that politicians all over the world seem more corrupt than ever and the concept of serving the public has become a joke. If you're in politics these days it's more likely that you are doing something very wrong. Don't even mention Bush and co.

... there's more corruption among Iranian leaders/ politicians right? It's fine to point out what goes on in other countries as long as you don't forget about your own :o)
