Secret Bush "Finding" Widens War on Iran
Counterpunch / ANDREW COCKBURN
03-May-2008 (14 comments)

Bush’s secret directive covers actions across a huge geographic area – from Lebanon to Afghanistan – but is also far more sweeping in the type of actions permitted under its guidelines – up to and including the assassination of targeted officials. This widened scope clears the way, for example, for full support for the military arm of Mujahedin-e Khalq, the cultish Iranian opposition group, despite its enduring position on the State Department's list of terrorist groups.

signs order to arm MEK and Jundullah

This is a terrorism campaign against Iranians which as always has a PR component. This explains the sudden influx of Rajavist apologists on the net.

Do we have to include Isrealie and American in all our arguments ?? You know this really shows lack of your knowledge about Iran, Iranian, their history, Arabs and their history, Until when are you going to blame the murderous acts by Ayatollahs and all those thief Arabs such as Hossein, Reza and Ali who destroyed our heritage and culture, who killed millions of people and specially Persian, on Isreal and America ?? Bring me only one source showing that an Isrealee or American is killing Iranians ?? I can show you thousands of article and document that the Ayotallah is doing that right now, why do we have to argue one sided always ?? why can't we see the real fact and instead of taking side, just argue about our real issues. What these Ayatollahs with their backward ideology have done to Iran is one of its kind in the world history, nobody have harmed Iranians the way these animal have done in the past 30 years, having said that what the heck should I care about Isreal, America or MEK when I have the biggest Iranian killer in my country right now. and about people bashing America all the time for their problem and backwardness, I do not think there are any retarded backward, heyvan sefatar az in Akhondha in the history, I mean these animals are the biggest treat to the world, they are killing Iranians, stoning our women, raping our young girls, cutting legs of our youth and many thousand of other dirty thing for God sake and what do you want Amrica to do ?? something that we Iranian were incapable of doing , we were incapable of kicking these animals out of our country and we want the rest of the world as well to sit down like ourself and have Ayotollah take over the whole world and start suppressing other nation as well, nooo, other nations wont do that, they did not bring their freedom from SARE KOCHE and they are not going to lose it like we did to bunch of retarded backward things and what do you think these Ayatollahs would do if they become super power ?? I myself know, when that happens, Bush is going to be angel, exactly the way we love Shah right now compare to 30 years ago, anyway we have seen these animal's masters in history, we have seen Mohammad, Ali and the rest in the history, have they done anything other than war and killing ? please lighten me up, over 100 war for Islam aziz with Mohammad being in 33 of them, if you were even smart enough to read the history you will also notice that nobody has ever stole money from Iran than Reza did, yeah lets just blame it on Clinton, 1400 years, you tell me what did these people brought to humanity ?? Not even single Aspirin Tablet they have produced for humans, nothing, nothing have came from Arebestan, Palestine and the rest of badbakht bichare Moslem's countries, everything that yourself right now is using are from the same people that you are bashing all the time, the ghors you use when you have headache, your cell phone, your car and almost everything else, are these Akhonds any good to humanity, they could have at least done one positive in the past 1400 years, so please shout your mouth and instead of being ignorant, judge people one sided, just go read some book, it is not gone kill you, spend some time on reading Iranian and Arabs history if the future of Iran and Iranian are any real concern to you and when you done that, come and help your people.

May be you want to keep your racist comments to yourself. Arabs and Iranians have a common enemy. Of course the source is "OIL", but neverthless the enemy is the same.

Before it is too late, whereby Persia is to be divied up among traitors such as MEK and other sepratists, I say the American forces should liberate Iran and we should all band together to espouse unity, coherence and keeping our borders from breaking up.  It is up to us with the help America where we can keep iran intact.  Certainly, the only winners in this game would be the Arabs in the region Who want that area of the world to be infested more so than it is by Arab presence? Certainly not I

by . (not verified) on

The blood suckers in Tel Aviv and their masters in Washington DC are constantly planning how to murder and kill in the ME, whether Iran, Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, Turkey, etc.. Iranian leaders would be dumb if they don't know that. Given the smarts of Iranian, this one shall pass too..

It's interesting how some buy off on the U.S. Gov. Propaganda

by Anonymous-2 (not verified) on

It's amazing how some people buy off on the U.S. and Israeli propaganda about Iran developing nuclear weapons when every single IAEA report has asserted and confirmed the opposite; Iran destabilizing Iraq (only assertions), Iran arming militias (only assertions), Iran killing Americans (only assertions), Iran assisting the Talibans, Al-Qaeda, the entire terrorist network in the world (all assertions with absolutely no evidence provided); but when a credible author such as Patrick Cockburn, and Sey Hersh write articles they are paid IRI agents - and it's all propaganda!!

I will trust Patrick Cockburn, Sey Hersh, Howard Zinn, Gareth Porter, Justin Raimondo, Paul Craig Roberts... anyday, but if the U.S. Gov. or Israel tell me the lake is brown I will go and check it out with my own eyes.

They have lied so much, that anything they say is nothing but disinformation, misinformation, propaganda to justify their warmongering policies.

Q

parthian: did you just call me "terrorist" for posting this?

by Q on

Wow, what an increadible short-sighted hypocrite you are. You throw standard MEK lines, say I'm like Khomeini 30 years ago, and then you have the nerve to say I'm "scaremongering?" Sounds like you really don't want this information posted and are willing say anything to have it removed.

Have you been deaf and blind in the last 7 years? Almost everything is leaked by anonymous sources from inside the government who don't want their country to enter into another war.

The corporate media have always carried the PR burden for the Bush administration. Still the signs are there, if you are willing to read carefully. Here's a quote from LA Times confirming the same thing.

----------------------------------
Analysts say the anti-Iranian groups are tempting assets for the U.S. They say it would be a surprise if the groups were not receiving U.S. funding, but that the strategy would probably not work.

"It will give more encouragement to Iran's hard-liners to step up their own efforts to assist anti-American forces in Iraq and Afghanistan," said Bruce Riedel, a former CIA analyst now at the Brookings Institution, a Washington think tank.

Many in Washington have advocated such aid. The rebels fight the same Revolutionary Guard that oversees at least part of Iran's nuclear program and probably funnels support to militant groups in Lebanon and the Palestinian territories.

"It would be a scandal if the U.S. was not funding these groups," said John Pike, director of globalsecurity.org, a website about intelligence and military issues. "The support would be covert and might be done in ways that the groups themselves remain unaware of the ultimate source of their funding."

Parthian

This explains the sudden apologist for IR

by Parthian on

Q, in his usual dumb way tries to portray this article as factual. One good look at the article, and you can see, no supporting evidence of any kind is been provided. Where is the author getting this stuff? If it is so secret, than even Congress does not know about(since funding has to go through them), how would the author know about this so called terrorist campaign? This is scare tactic used by IR to justify their murderous rule. Their lackeys here keep bringing these issues, including military strike into the discourse to silence critics, at home, they use the same justifications to execute and imprison people. Q, it is not 30 years ago when Khomeini was able to trick millions of sheeps..times have changed..same old tactics won't work...Nice try terrorist..
