It's like old times in the Persian Gulf. As of this week, a second aircraft carrier battle task force is being sent in -- not long after Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Adm. Michael Mullen highlighted planning for "potential military courses of action" against Iran; just as the Bush administration's catechism of charges against the Iranians in Iraq reaches something like a fever pitch;

The best article about Iranian politics

by Anonymous-2 (not verified) on

This was the most informative article I have read about the Iranian political complexities; and the mind frame and mentality of various parties involved.

I never believed these people are idiots, in fact quite the contrary, they are more politically astute than many give them credit for.

Don't be fooled by how Ahmadinejad looks, he is smart and knows how to play his cards.

A penny for my thoughts: I may be wrong, but I believe if the U.S. doesn't take him out, he would expand ties with the Asians, Russians, the Eurasian countries, and of course the petro-rich Persian Gulf States - that's what he wants.

I like the Phrase "Yes We Can"?

What If

Great piece of reporting.

The Shahi’s and our Iranian-Zionist friends will hate this but :

How would we all feel if in 15-20 years from now, Iran is actually a major world power through the efforts of the current regime. It is estimated that at the current price of oil Iran is sitting on over $20 Trillion of oil and gas reserves and is much more self sufficient than all its neighbors. So it is not beyond the realms of possibility.

I have to say I do struggle with this thought myself. Like most other Iranians who live in the west, I hate the current regime, and have had friends and family killed or tortured by them. Their ideologies drives me mental and their corruption and hypocrisy is the source of misery for Iranians.. The thought of Ahmadinejad making Iran great is like a brickie (amaleh) delivering the Taj Mahal, but it could happen.

A penny for your thoughts!
