اردشیر امیر ارجمند و مجتبی واحدی دو گرایش درون جنبش سبز را در خارج کشور نمایندگی میکنند. یکی هم‌چنان بر طبل اصلاح‌طلبی می‌کوبد و خط خاتمی و موسوی خوئینی‌ها را دنبال می‌کند تا شاید راهی برای کنار آمدن با ولی فقیه بیابد، و دیگری فاتحه اصلاح‌طلبی را خوانده است و از لزوم تغییرات بنیادین در نظام سیاسی کشور سخن می‌گوید. یکی خود را سخنگوی «شورای» مجهول «همآهنگی راه سبز امید» می‌خواند و از اعتبار میرحسین موسوی هزینه می‌کند، و دیگری از خود مایه می‌گذارد و سخن خویش را عرضه می‌دارد>>>

سبک موسیقی جدید اعتراض به کلی با سلفش متفاوت است... این نوآوری را میتوان در آوای دگردیس محسن نامجو (بیشتر به صورت طنز تلخ) رد گرفت، با صدای تنگ حوصلۀ آرش سبحانی و همراهی گروه کیوسک شنید، در همنوایی و هماهنگی زوج ایندو شاهد بود و با هنرنمایی آبجی های سیت و سماقی سوئدی تماشا کرد که همگی در بین جوانان طرفدار بسیار یافته اند، کنسرت هایشان پرخواستار است و ویدئوهایی که روی یوتیوب میگذارند پرتماشاگر>>>

رژیم برای این که بتواند رأی‌گیری مجلس نهم را به صورت «موفق» به انجام برساند مجبور است از یک سو فضای انتخاباتی ایجاد کند تا بتواند مردم را به پای صندوق‌های رأی بکشاند و از سوی دیگر این فضا را آن قدر کنترل کند که انتظار زیادی نیافریند و از واکنش اعتراض‌آمیز بعدی رأی‌دهندگان در امان بماند. برای این کار رژیم نیاز دارد که علاوه بر اصولگرایان، به نامزدهایی از اصلاح‌طلبان نیز اجازه دهد تا در انتخابات شرکت کنند>>>

Let's face it the battle lines between Iran and the US over Iran's alleged pursuit of a nuclear weapon, are about as thin as the hair on Khamenei's Ghormeh Sabzi smelling head. But until the day when Iran announces it though, we'll never actually know. Actually now that I think about it, even then, we won't ever know. I mean even if they showed us a, iPhone or Android taken 3DHD video or even an 8 megapixel picture taken by an iPad(2) or Motorola Xoom (x pronounced z), of a tall donkey (or camel?) phallus shaped missile with a radioactive symbol painted alongside the Allah-O-Akbar on it>>>

فصل مشترک تمامی این حوادث این است که یک طرفش ما هستیم و طرف دیگرش غرب. روسیه در اروپا شرق حساب می شود ولی به نظر من برای ما، روسها هم جزوی از غرب هستند. همه این شکستها نشان دهنده این است که ما در پانصد سال گذشته (تو بگو دویست سال) غرب را نشناختیم، هیچ، حتی سعی نکردیم شروع به این شناخت بکنیم. به قول سون تزو اسراتژیست نظامی چین باستان، اگر نه خودت را بشناسی و نه حریفت را، بعید به نظر میرسد که در نبردی پیروز بشوی. ما که خودمان را نمی شناسیم>>>

سالگرد فاجعه کشتار سال ۶۷ فرا رسیده است. این کشتار یکی از بزرگ‌ترین جنایات ضد بشری نیمه دوم قرن بیستم میلادی در سطح جهان بوده است. هزاران نفر در طول چند هفته به صورت مخفیانه و به دلایل عقیدتی و سیاسی در زندان‌های ایران اعدام شدند. شدت و وسعت این کشتار بی سابقه بود، ولی نفس عمل پدیده‌ای استثنایی در حیات جمهوری اسلامی نبود... راحت‌تر و مؤثرتر آن است که از «اعدام‌های دهه اول انقلاب» سخن بگوییم - دهه‌ای که از ۲۲ بهمن ۱۳۵۷ شروع شد و در پاییز ۱۳۶۷ به پایان رسید>>>

This was only the second time since the Peace Corps program in Iran ended- and in honor of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the American Peace Corps by President Kennedy in 1961. A few years, before Zahra Noorbakhsh moved to the New York stage, her grandma didn’t want to shake hands with me. At the time, Zahra was an undergrad literature major at Berkeley and may have thought it was about time her conservative Muslim grandmother met her real-life friends. After so many years in the U.S., I had forgotten that when you greet a chadored Iranian woman of grandma’s generation, proper etiquette is to look down at your feet as you say your salaam. Then if it turns out she’s not ultra-conservative, she’ll let you know>>>

انتشار یک ویژه‌نامه حجیم به عنوان ضمیمه روزنامه دولتی ایران در این هفته سرآغاز موج جدیدی از کشمکش و اختلاف در میان اصولگرایان حاکم شده است. موضوع این ویژه‌نامه که تحت عنوان «خاتون» نشر یافته، زن و حجاب است. کمتر روزی است که این وکیل یا آن وزیر یا مقام روحانی یا پلیس یا فلان «کارشناس» در این باره داد سخن ندهند. ولی اختصاص نشریه‌ای به قطر بیش از 250 صفحه به این موضوع از ناحیه یک جناح حکومتی بی‌سابقه است>>>
