There is a difference between a spouse and a lover
and no one can be both
oh … no never
When you are with your spouse
life is just paying the bills
it's fighting over the kids
life is a promotion you get at work
by working late and caring no more
Life is the urge of feeding the ego
the only God that you’ve ever come to know
Life is this constant fighting
over who is right
it is I hate you and I want you out
life is nothing but being stuck
like a donkey in the mud
But...
when you are with your lover..
Oh ... when you ARE with your lover
life is a flower
a dream with mesmerizing streams
a poem
a soothing ghazal of desire.....
Life becomes nothing but a Love logo
it is I die if you ever go
There is a difference between
a spouse and a lover
and no one can be both
Oh … no never

Looking for Mr. Goodbar
by Faramarz on Wed Aug 03, 2011 06:44 AM PDTNice poem Soosan Khanoom. I can tell that it's coming from the heart!
It reminded me of Don't Ask to Stay Until Tomorrow by Marlena Shaw from the movie Looking for Mr. Goodbar

Oh Mamy Blue, Oh Mamy...
by Mash Ghasem on Tue Aug 02, 2011 10:41 PM PDTWell, poetry has all different levels and altitudes, below the surface, above the surface, below the sheets, above the sheets, no sheets at all, sometimes it's as subterranean as it gets. Once a year is a pretty good arrangement though..
I leave you with this oldie of mine.

by Mash Ghasem on Tue Aug 02, 2011 07:31 PM PDTTis begining to sound like this movie:
Same time, next year//www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqpWAiLJZOw
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same_Time,_Next_Year
Story of two lovers that meet once a year, and make poetry, under the sheets. Same time, next year: pretty simple plot.
Now, a once a year commitment: that is very tempting.

by Soosan Khanoom on Tue Aug 02, 2011 06:57 PM PDTThat was really a good article...I agree with many things he said especally if I look at it with my western eyes .... I, however, have the opposite in mind and that is because in the Iranian culture you get married for diferent reasons other that what he stated. ...I will write more later...
but thanks I really liked the article especially this statement which is so true and the sad thing is that these types of affairs are going unnoticed and there is no punishment for it ....
"But "affairs" don't always happen in the form of "marital infidelity." Many times people find extramarital fulfillment in activities outside of marriage such as work, a profession, church, religion, a hobby, a friendship, substance abuse, social life or "traveling for business."
dear SK,
by Truthseeker9 on Fri Aug 05, 2011 08:43 AM PDTI didn't know you wrote the poem! But rhymes and poetry aside, this might be some interesting reading. Perhaps there is no right person after all, just the right attitude and emotional growth.
I Married the Wrong Person!

by Soosan Khanoom on Tue Aug 02, 2011 05:56 PM PDTI hope this lovey dovey marriage of yours last for a long time ..... There is always an exception to the rules ..... You probably have picked your lover to spend the rest of your life with rather than just an spouse.
: )
Truthseeker9 thanks for stopping by
by Soosan Khanoom on Tue Aug 02, 2011 05:53 PM PDTPoor reader he thinks he is married to the right person. : )
PS ... this poem may well be non-personal .. i will take the 5th on that but i had fun writing and rhyming ....
And it speaks of many marriages that are doomed to fail ....

by Soosan Khanoom on Tue Aug 02, 2011 05:22 PM PDTWomen do not need Viagra but men do .... You see for men as much as they talk sex thay can not do it as they age ... yes talk is cheap...... but for women, however, it is completely the opposite ...That is why older men and younger women are sexually more able to satisfy themselves and the same is true for older women with younger men .... I am speaking about the Hormonal levels which has been scientifically proven...

Poor poet

Nice poem Soosan Khanoom.
by Anahid Hojjati on Tue Aug 02, 2011 11:00 AM PDTIt does look like that some married couples are not enjoying their married life. I think in this time and age, may be the idea that two people stay together 40/50/60 years, it is a bit scary. But if you look at a marriage and it lasted some years and some good came out of it, may be it is good enough. When it gets to the point when people are not enjoying it, they should get divorce and find another relationship that makes them happy.
Ten years ago, I would've said ...
by Rea on Tue Aug 02, 2011 10:50 AM PDT.... yeah. But not now.
Unless he pays the bills, there is no difference except for the virtual blah, blah.
For some one that is not into poetry
by Bavafa on Tue Aug 02, 2011 10:06 AM PDTI really enjoyed this one.
And it may sound corny, but my lover is my spouse and no…we are not newly wed :)
Thanks for sharing it.
