I wrote the following piece titled: Dancing With Angels – Not God, No My Darling, But Houris a couple of days ago, which led to some very interesting discussions. I decided to write this piece to both clarify and complete the discussions in the above mentioned piece. Hope You Enjoy This One :)
In my dreams, all in glory, at the very feet, of the Master himself
Nothing imaginary, all quite real, totally mesmerizing, yes my sweet, and indeed, much more
Quintessentially, all in light, no brevity, just total splendor
All maidens at my service, quite willing, totally enamored, yes my darling, with much bliss
All religion, no religion, no faith, all but purposeful
Gliding past infinity, no horizons, yet my friend, all evident, for everyone to see
In the ocean of love, all existence, no death, catastrophe in check
Caress my lips, touch my soul, all heaven, no reservation, none whatsoever
Call me a Muslim, no matter my sweet, a Jew is my brother, so is a Christian
Name me a Zoroastrian, that’s my sister, call me an atheist, that’s all bliss, yes my darling
All there, nothing here, embrace it all, love indeed, what truly matters
Nothing else, no my darling, embrace our love, brotherhood and sisterhood, nothing else, truly matters
As you embrace my immortality, let not go, as we dance, to the music of destiny
No my darling, not my destiny, but indeed ours, on total display, for all eternity to see
Confuse not, heaven with earth, our true angels, not really in heaven
Come my sweet, our very angels, blissfully present, dance with them, in Ecstasy, all by and by
My Lord, if Mohammad, in concert, with Jesus, Buddha awaiting
Come Moses, blissfully forgetful, remind him O’ Dear, Elijah already gone
My religion, no religion, yes my sweet, embrace my very essence
Our Ecstasy, your Bliss, embrace my being, God In Presence, No Absence, Sweet By And By
Give me a Koran, I’ll give you a flower, yes my sweet, all more important
All Holy Books, no Holy Books, bless my hands, touch my Spirit, O’ Sweet Prophet
Dance with me, as we caress, each other’s souls, our spirits, abiding
Yes My Darling, our spirits, in glory, total bliss manifest, indeed, dance with me
No Heaven Or Hell, no my darling, our bliss here, forget that not
As I touch your spirit, indeed touch my soul, in unison, you in me, and I in you, by and by
Come through me, all with me, no hesitation, absolutely none
My life yours, your sweetness mine, come through me, all by and by
Remember my darling, with God, without divinity, our love, will indeed suffice
Our God in me, in total divinity, with much glory, our love, will indeed suffice

I agree with you that we need to have a balance. Does IRI emphasize "love" more than the "rules" or the other way around?
Take care and good nite!

by Passing Through on Sun Nov 22, 2009 11:39 PM PSTAll Religions Have A Certain Level Of Do's And Dont's
It's When The Focus Shifts Primarily To The Legalistic Issues At The Expense Of Personal Relationships And Love That Trouble Begins
The Key Issue Is Maintaining A Balance
Again, It's Really That Simple :)
Take Care,

by yolanda on Sun Nov 22, 2009 11:27 PM PSTDear PT,
I think Islam, Christianity, Catholicism have do's and don't, but they also mention love a lot:
Christianity: Love your enemy, love your neighbor as yourself, love the sinner....faith, hope, love....the greatest is love.
Christianity: don't kill, don't steal, don't covet other people's wives....
Islam: don't drink, don't commit adultery, don't show your hair (for girls)
Islam: I hear Islamic compassion or clemency all the time.
Catholicism: don't use contraceptives, don't have abortions
Catholicism: talk about love a lot just like Christianity....
Thank you for your post and poem!
Take care!

by Passing Through on Sun Nov 22, 2009 11:15 PM PSTAny religion that does snot incorporate the very concept of Love in its fullest form, is no religion at all
There are many religions which are involved in a tremendous amount of Legalism
By that I mean Do's And Dont's
These religions fall way short of the mark of what religions should be truly about
A Religion That Encourages Love Amongst Its Followers Has Everything .. Similarly, A Religion That Its Focus Is Soley Upon Legalistic Issues, Has Absolutely Nothing
It's Really That Simple :)
Tks,
PT

by yolanda on Sun Nov 22, 2009 11:09 PM PSTDear PT,
Thank you for your beautiful poem. Does your poem mean that religions don't matter as long as there is love? I got the impression from the last 2 lines of your poem. Religion is a touchy subject, I have seen many heated debates on religions on IC. I don't dare to go near the topic.
Thank you!
