i hope soon the issue is resolved. it looks like roozbeh has many fans on ic. i don't know what happened that resulted in his blocking. perhaps, admin will write about it later.

Well I

reviewed the recent exchanges between Roozbeh and Baron. In that light it makes some sense why they would both be booted. 

Regarding "standing up to NIAC". Oh please folks. Half the regular posters on IC have deep vitriol towards NIAC. I do not think you need worry about a shortage of NAIC haters!

Perhaps it is to show "balance" in numbers blocked on both sides of the debate, so that the site appears democratic.

What is also noticeable is when there is longstanding conflict between two persons where one uses own name and the other not, and both break the rules, anonymous ID seems to be the one to get blocked. If someone's identity is known they are not likely to get blocked and get warnings, they seem to be the more "valued" member. Which all seems to make a mockery of Official Rules. I am sorry, but this seems to be the impression of what goes on.

I do not get why in the world the admin would block Roozbeh either. It just does not make any sense. Roozbeh is one of the most thoughtful and decent posters at IC. He did stand up to the supporters of vf regime and NIAC. And they used a lot of nasty insults and personal attacks such as calling him agent of Israel and neo-con and the like. We can see such insults even on this blog.

Roozbeh is one of the rare individuals who was a bridge-builder. He successfully built bridges and friendships with those who differ from him. For example, he built bridges of friendship with pro-democracy posters, independents, and monarchists.

If there is anything we can do to convince the admin to change its sad decision, we should do it. And if there is anything we can do to convince Roozbeh to come back, we should do it.

Roozbeh has been one of those rare and wonderful flowers in our community garden. To eliminate such a wonderful flower while there are so many alaf harz on this site, who on a daily basis making personal attacks and insults against the best posters who fight for democracy, freedom, and human rights is simply sad.

Is the definition of honesty and tremendous insight? Wow, I've heard it all now! Like someone else said, the people with the same bag of bullying and intimidation tactics are the same ones who are speaking out the loudest for an utter thug like RG. Since we are obviously dealing with a closely aligned bloc with a special discusrive interest, go figure...

Some people definitely think and act extremely close to the handles they choose.

I can't believe this admin, I have been a way for a few days and look what you've done.

If that is true then it would be a very sad moment when we lose a patriotic Iranian who brought honesty and tremendous insight to the site and debated with a great deal of energy and passion. It's pitty to loose him at the time the site is full of dogs who roam freely and piss on every tree in their way.

I agree with Maziar and others that Admin owes us an explanation as would be the case in any democratic community.

One piece of good news is that Baron Avak is also blocked. I'm not sure how much him also being thrown out is connected to Roozbeh but Baron did try to bully him.

Well, I found him confrontational and accusatory at times...

          His tone and style was equivalent of "screaming" rather then having a civil conversation. There are few other folks on this site with same style and attitude. I guess they are here lobbying to bring him back.

           I have no idea what was his last sin! Lets put it this way: I have seen 2 or 3 folks on his opposing side being knocked out. Perhaps this levels the field!

I don't know what happened to Roozbeh and why he did get block.

Actually it's a while that I can not follow all the thread as I should.

But one thing is sure, Roozbeh is a great asset to the site. He has very good points and is much more civil than many others (especially the troll ones).

Despite some disagreement over some points, I like Roozbeh a lot.

I am sure he will be back soon.

RG's Blockade!

RG's blockade took place during one of my regular shifts on the site here, so I know why he was blocked. But I'm not going to get into it for the reason I may say something that might open a can of worms. I simply don't like worms! But I can tell you how I became an atheist. It all happened suddenly one day when I was in a cab going back home from college. I just realized I had no use for the "guy up there." I found him unworthy of my thoughts and time. I realized he was such an insensitive, unreasonable, narrow-minded, judgmental and vengeful wretch more in need of my sympathy than my reverence or awe that I couldn't deal with. Why should I want to have anything to do with a pitiful entity like him, I thought to myself. The "conversion" came easy perhaps because I had never been a "true" believer, to begin with.

Did I agree with RG's every post? No, not necessarily, but he is one of the best posters here, a very decent human being and a true Iranparast to boot. IC will be poorer without him.

Also a note about TL who seems blissfully unaware of the irony of her own posts. While denigrating many people here, which she often does (apparently now many of us are "unhinged" and RG was a "creature", "beyond primitive, psycho-tycally dumb", a "thug" etc etc), she is complaining about RG's behaviour towards others!

Time after time here posters get blocked NOT becasue they

don't want to abide by the rules and regulations but rather because the EDITOR/ADMIN apply arbitrary, inconsistent, ambiguous, and totally random rules that end up in arbitrary, inconsistent, ambiguous, and random deletion/blocking policies.

If the EDITOR/ADMIN of this site designed the traffic lights in your town, there would be a few hundred accidents on a daily basis!

Hey Yo EDITOR/ADMIN here are the rules:

Green means go!

Yellow means slow down!

Red means stop!

State the rules without any ambiguity and then if the members do not abide then you can block them or whatever your heart desires!

Also, EDITOR/ADMIN has/have soft spots for females (i.e,, SK, TL, and the rest of the gang!) It's just the feeling I have! Don't SUE me!
