Did Iranians make a mistake?

This article is not about your preference of government for the future of Iran. Most Republicans and Most of those for constitutional monarchy are not in favor of revolutions or coups, their ideals require them to both want the people to choose which form of government they want. This is about 1979, the revolution and how we went from light into darkness. My Question is did Iranians make a mistake? We can in this sense discuss all groups and factions, especially pro secular republicans, jebhe melli and all the others who helped the founder of the Islamic Republic come to power.

Lets consider these 2 historical documents for the purpose comparing the founders of the system we were using, to the system Iranians united to bring about.

Rouhollah Khomeini Founding Father of IRI:

A man can have sexual pleasure from a child as young as a baby. However, although he should not penetrate, sodomising the child is OK. If the man penetrates and damages the child then he should be responsible for her subsistence all her life. This girl however does not count as one of his four permanent wives. The man will not be eligible to marry the girl's sister.

-- Ayatollah Khomeini in Tahrirolvasyleh, fourth volume, Darol Elm, Qom.

Cyrus the Great Founding Father of the Iranian Monarchy, Shahanshahi:

I am Kourosh (Cyrus), great king, Now that I put the crown of the kingdom of Iran, Babylon, and the nations of the four directions on the head with the help of Ahura, I announce that I will respect the traditions, customs and religions of the nations of my empire and never let any of my governors and subordinates look down on or insult them while I am alive. I will impose my monarchy on no nation. Each is free to accept it, and if any one of them rejects it, I never resolve on war to reign. While I am the king I will never let anyone oppress others, I will never let anyone take possession of movable and landed properties of the others by force or without compensation. While I am alive, I will prevent unpaid, forced labour. Today, I announce that everyone is free to choose a religion. No one could be penalised for his or her relatives' faults.

-- The charter of Cyrus, a baked-clay Aryan language (Old Persian) cuneiform cylinder, written on the occasion of his crowning on the Nowruz of 539 BC. (Discovered 1878 in the excavation of Babylon)

To both Monarchists and Republicans please refrain from asking the question of which form of government today serves the purpose of cultural and social consensus amongst the various ethnicities and social groups, which is a precondition of democracy. That is another discussion all together.

My good friend , glad all you Obamaists are coming to what i kept telling you on this "one time usage" poster child candidate 3 yrs ago..his candidacy was financed by big blue & major hedgefunds to cover 2 items 1- quantitative monetary recapitalization of "major money". 2- his image as marketing ploy to open new & suppressed global markets for american goods damaged during Bush era (including major Islamic importers). Now with major investment & asset funds rescued & recapitalized and major multinational such as CAT(caterpilar) , Cummins & DE in record profits in contrast to domestic recession his one term task is done. reversal of fortune is in the queue for a republican to come in to consolidate these gains for "big blue" by cutting down corp regulations, easing tax rate on corp...etc..

Cheers pal!!!

Having a discussion with an iranian student right now

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

He has a problem admitting Iranians were fooled, and that it is the USA that wants islam in govt so as to take the resources of the societies through imperialism and miltarism.  Good people seem to not be able to believe it.  Funny and sad.

Thanks Amirparviz for the link on his nurse. It is interesting how USA is pushingfor Islamism. I am not sure about the reasonns or logic if any. But I am beginning to regret not having McCain over Obama.

The mistake McCain made us Palin. It showed his poor judgement. Now Egypt is going Islamist; Libya follows. Iraq and Afghanistan already there. I have no idea what they want for Syria.

America is suffering from really bad leadership. Too many "Israel first" neocon idiot advisers. What are we going to wind up with. The first thing America needs to do is to get advisers who put America first not Israel.

Current state of Affairs. In plain sight, with out secrecy.

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

1) Activists outside iran that are for constitutional monarchy are openly sidelined by iranians that eat from others plates.

2) VOA and BBC are supporting a pro-republican spin in their work.  Good for them, they can continue on their Republican path.

3) The West is unified in it's Opposition to a Constitutional Monarchy
for Iran, which is both secular & democratic at its heart.  That is,
anything that gives Iranians a competitive edge, greater unity, then
the west does not want it.  See the rankings for 2010 and reflect on why that may be so.  //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy_Index

The Paranoid Style in American Politics

Whatever cultural weaknesses you observe about Iranians are also in conspicuous abundance amongst other peoples as well. Where America is considered, the French aristocrat and sociologist Alexis de Tocqueville observed far worse about the American "collective unsconscious" during his travels there in the 1830s.

Siavash300

Iranians have hard time to accept their mistakes

by Siavash300 on

Because Iran historically had been intervened by foreign powers. It created paranoid ideas in Iranians "collective unconscious". Whatever goes wrong is foreign's people fault, not them.

BTW,

We have to give JahanKhalili credit for being able to see the world from 2 different angles because of his American mother. He has a luxury of picking up the best of the both worlds.

You've Spent ALL THIS TIME REPLYING TO ME

by JahanKhalili on

Time is money. If you can spend all this time replying to me, and thinking of how to insult me, all of you marvelously single-minded Iranians who were so good at trying to think of ways to dismiss me, can dig your collective Iranian penny-pinching hands into all of your American-made pockets and between all of you come up with the money to buy a single damned Tahrirolvasyleh, and have the thing scanned.

The burden of proof is on yourselves. You're making these claims. Its up to you to prove them.

If you can't even do that between the lot of you, what good can you possibly be at opposing some government - or choosing one?

As I said $ 20 bucks will buy 3 fresh play boy and a much better money spent since you keep insisting on it go ahead and buy it your self that's if you like to spent your money and time hell with khomeini and his book.

If its so easy to get, why don't you buy it, scan it, and post it online?

Why hasn't anyone done that?

Prove you - and your Iranian friends here - are not full of sh-t.

Prove that I'm wrong!

You and all these idiots spent all this time replying to me and calling me names.

At least one of you could have spent that time scanning and posting the book online.

So what can we conclude?

By the way, I've told Americans about these stupid things you dumb Iranians say (stuff like the Americans brought Ayatollah Khomeini to power, etc.)

They don't believe it, because they can't believe anyone could be that stupid.

But you all have solved that problem for me, because now I can show them what you've all been posting here as proof.

Iranians Bullsh-t Too Much

by JahanKhalili on

Why don't you all just admit it?

You're full of sh-t.

When I was in Iran, I heard the rumor that Ayatollah Khomeini had died maybe a dozen times before he actually did.

.... and none of the people who spread them would admit that they might be complete BS.

And now that someone is calling you on your bullsh-t, you hate it.

... can't stand it.

You want to carry on without anyone ever calling you on it.

This Tahrirolvasyleh nonsense is just another example.

All I did was ask you to verify this, and you hate it because you can't prove its not BS.

So you have to pretend that the problem is me and not yourselves.

VPK Tabarzin, now that the USA is using Islamists against Gadafi

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

And they kill libyan troops from the Air and leave the rest to the islamists, there is an interesting article about the character of the person they have made to look as evil on earth.  //www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/europe/09/03/ukraine...

people that worked with him say everything reported on him personally was basically lies. Are we shocked?

As for the torture cells, those were only created for use by cia and mi5 on their al-qaeda taleban enemies. As for Kaneh I think he gets the point that no one is iterested in speaking with himand is free to go elsewhere and engage with others. thanks for the warning there.

Troubling That Iranians Cannot Ever Admit Making Mistakes

by JahanKhalili on

As my American mother says, they'd rather "go to hell than admit that they could be wrong about anything", and are "know-it-alls" because their culture scorns anyone who admits that they have any shortcoming.

The people commenting here are an example.

Troubling that in practice US has helped strengthen IRI

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

What will it take to get USA to support Regime change with a National referendum? Inside Iran IRI are so unpopular, even with all this killing I doubt they can hold power for long. Having no regional enemies, except usa which won't do anything, means IRI can focus all its resources on the people who oppose them.

Iran "Benefitted" Accidentally....

They didn't do the work themselves - as usual.

Right?

Veiled Prophet of Khorasan

One last thing

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on

Amirparviz: Recent American moves have all benefited Iran or IRI. The USA removed Iran's worst opponents Saddam and Taliban. Iran now basically rules much of Iraq and Afghanistan. Imagine Iran with a nationalist government.

It would completely dominate the region at least culturally. For one thing Iranians do no need "CIA" documents to know how to deal with their neighbors. They have over 3000 years of history!

Veiled Prophet of Khorasan

I don't think NATO; China or anyone is interested in war. If USA thinks it is going to drag NATO into a war with Russia they are dreaming. Most European nations may at best send a few dozen troops if really pressed!

China is never going to be led by America to do its dirty work. Nobody will be breaking up Iran. These are dreams of Neocon PNAC types who failed in every act. America really needs to cleanup its "expert" stock; get objective people.

By the way I read the "CIA" report about "Arabs". The document must be written by a moron. The guy mixes Iranians; Arabs and Chinese! If this is where "intelligence" is coming from God help us! No wonder every recent US move failed.

VPK re splitting Iran up

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

This was a major reason the US cited as wanting to break iran up to make it impossible to profit and develop by sending its energy towards the east, to china and india, //www.dawn.com/2011/09/16/us-stiffens-opposit... news today.

amirparvizforsecularmonarchy

VPK lets hope you are right about ww3.

by amirparvizforsecularmonarchy on

Apparently it was supposed to have started between Nato countries backed by USA against Russia in 2009.  The countries had all been given orders to prepare for it, wth exact specifications of how to upgrade their air forces and fighting units.  The USA gave them all special interest free loans to get their militaries up to par as it was leaked.

The financial collapse of the wests banking system is thought to have set it back for 10 years. Hence the "reset" with Russia instead.  This was leaked out by a few countries, including Turkey.  The USA did everything it could to bring china in on its side against russia and they refused and did a major joint military manover with russia instead.

For now they don't have the strength to take on russia.  Their financal systems will take a decade to repair and function again, maybe more.

Why Iranians Can't Admit They're Ever Wrong About Anything...

by JahanKhalili on

Let's see what the CIA has to say about it.

https://www.cia.gov/library/center-for-the-study-o...

I think Americans who have been following this silly discussion will be better able to understand the perplexing behavior they're witnessing here.

(The article mentions Iranians as well)

Veiled Prophet of Khorasan

Re: WWIII

by Veiled Prophet of Khorasan on

There will not be any WWIII beyond what is there now. In some ways we already have it. But it is not going to be a war between Russia; China and USA. The war is in a different way.

It is economical and being fought over jobs. America is losing because it fails to put its interest above ideology. Nations like India and China put their interest about all. That is why they are going to win.

This is too bad because I live in America and is bad for me. But not much is possible while America is run by ideology. No there will not be a shooting war. The war is all done by pulling strings and proxy.
