Darius: Nothing wrong with sandcastles, paper airplanes, and mashed potatoes.

It's never too late to begin sculpting. Start with clay work. It's so pleasurable to create a human head out of clay, imitating Mother Goddess when she first created us in Her own image - from Her womb of imagination :-)

Cheers,

The flames - branches  -tentacles surounding Judith are from a large cable the artist found in the Sooke Basin area of the Vancouver Island, all rusted and hollowed out.  To him it made the perfect envelope or sheath of fire from which to have the heroine emerge.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       I don't think he was thinking of Medusa, though :-).    Cheers, Azadeh

I always enjoyed sculpters and regret not having pursued the opportunity to take it on as a hobby when I could do so in my younger years. It is really gratifying to create something that takes shape in ones hands.

Thanks for sharing ...

Judith and Holofernes

by Azadeh Azad on

Yes Ari, it is Judith and by Jan Johnson. You made me realise I forgot to write it on the photo :-) I’ll get back to you about the tentacles; but your idea is quite appealing!

Cheers,

Azadeh

Azadeh do you have more info on #21,22?

Judith and Holofernes? Can't read the tentacle (tree) action. I wonder if it is meant to tie the theme to Perseus and Medusa in a retaliatory way. ??
