Complicated Identity

Paintings

I was born in Neyriz in1946. Inspired by Vincent Van Gough’s art and life, I became interested in painting in1972 and started to paint as a hobby for 20 years. In 1993, while residing and working in Miami Florida, I decided to seriously study and practice visual arts and undertook painting courses at the Florida International University. I have exhibited his work throughout Australia, and recently, in China, Taiwan, Germany, and Iran, holding 15 solo and more than 40 group exhibitions. Primarily, my work, with a strong connection with the Iranian heritage, has become my major medium of expression. However my experiences of other cultures have diversified and complicated my sense of identity and my work’s content and style. My next solo exhibition will be held from mid September through the end of October 2011 at Cowwarr Art Space, Cowwarr, Australia.

I assume the sizes are in centimeters. Never the less these are large pieces and assuming that the details hold at that size they must be really beautiful.  I would love to see them up close.  Thanks again for sharing your beautiful work with us.
