نام این باشگاه قبل از انقلاب باشگاه شاهنشاهی بود. باشگاه تاج زمین تنیس فقط داشت و پشت دانشگاه خواجه نصیر قرار داشت و هیچ ربطی به باشگاه شاهنشاهی نداشت.
